The loss of a Nomad's Father

During this holiday season, please keep Lori and Tommy Garcia from Cabomagic in your thoughts and prayers. Tommy's father passed this week. They are quickly preparing to travel to Los Angeles for the services on December 31.

It is always so difficult to lose a loved one, but somehow it just seems like the wrong time during the holidays. Lori and Tommy, our thoughts are with you.

And be safe in your travels.

Diana and John

I send my condolences to the bereaved. It's been that kind of Christmas. My friend Deborah, our Thi Chi instructor, body worker, Zen student beautiful human promised her husband Peter she would survive her terminal breast cancer until their anniversary, Christmas Eve. She just made it. That night Peter's son died of what appears to have been an accidental overdose of her morphine. We live in a little mountain town with three or four stoplights. We're a community. Everywhere I go there are tears. Peter is adrift in poorly charted waters.

Peace and Love....

....to you both, Lori and Tommy.

Like many of you, I have appreciated Lori's regular, thoughtful, and caring postings here through the years. BN is very diverse, yet still a true community, where we get to know each other quite well, and from which lasting friendships emerge.....

Safe travels and peace in your grieving hearts, Nomad Amigos.

thank you so much ... Dennis, Sally, BajaGringo, Keri, Vag, BajaBlanca, David
and our angel Diane I simply cannot express how much your thoughtfulness means .. this has been a whirlwind few days .. organization is my middle name and this has been more than any challenge yet.
Amigos and amigas who have written/called/sent emails thank you so much for your kindness ..

I will copy and paste part of an email I sent to our Angel Diane as it succinctly says so much, and I am getting both of us packed for the trip tomorrow.
*****************************************
.. I have sent some emails to some nomads who we have gotten aquainted with over the many years, like yourselves .. but I would like to honor my father in law, and, allow comforting words and prayers offered by others who dont generally read my posts .. to my husband Tommy - I believe the power of energy works, and at this time, prayers and comforting thoughts are so welcome ... Tommy has not allowed any of this to sink in .. I suspect it will hit him like a freight train when we get to the wake Thurs ..

This is the last of his immediate family ..
His only sibling, sister Susan was murdered Feb 1993 at age 34
His mom (biological) died Jan 2001
and now his Pop ..

His bio mom was one of 13 children and her side of the family he has only met one person who passed away - the remaining alive who we reached out to want nothing to do w/Tommy. They are amongst those who will probably beg for forgiveness when the book eventually is done, and they see all that is the truth that they refused to believe.

On Pops side, there is one brother alive - Tio Alejandro has endured some 50 chemo treatments and dont expect to have him with us much longer. .. l

The circumstances of Tommys life are so bizarre that sometimes people are unkind - I hope that someday we meet, so you will get the sense of the kind and gentle gentleman I am so proud to be married to.

I knew in my heart reaching out to you was the right thing to do .. thank you so much, Lori
**********************
This community, means different things to different people.

Episodes like 'this' make it even more difficult for me to understand the complexities of family. I cannot make sense of the messages I was given as a child, nor the confusing nonsense fed to me by 'loving' relatives .. thats why your kindness, without agenda or mean spirit, and supportive words mean so much.

Saying 'thank you' seems barely adequate, but must suffice for now.

Muchismas gracias once again to Diana ..

Ditto to all who responded here, and those of you that sent emails directly. The amigo-ship and support means so much. This last week was a ridiculously difficult time so it means/t so more than can be expressed. Please pretend there are hugs in this message which say what words cannot.

All best and sincere wishes to ALL of you for a happy healthy New Year filled peacefully with love and understanding - and whatever is needed to keep you comfortable ...

and um Santa/Mother Nature, can you make those fish keep feeding our guests all year long?

Amen.
