ABANDONED DOG at exit to Punta Abreojos

OMG, I was told yesterday that the folks who ran the pit stop have left for good. We were just there 2 days ago and I noticed a dog - very quiet - very beautiful - big and light brown colored. I AM SURE HE WAS ABANDONED. Is anyone going by that area today and able to rescue him ????????

yes. it is the most beautiful dog - and I was surprised that it was so quiet, and I was surprised that the restaurant was closed but presumed it was for the day :(

it is closed for good. I am just devastated that someone would do that ...

I know the family that ran it and will check. I am surprised it is closed since it did such a great business.

BajaBlanca- When you say the dog was big, would that be in girth or in height as in tall and lanky?

Wow, I often think of Pickle. Still have his flyer in my downloads and run across it every so often. Wouldn't that be something? To me he looks a little more Great Dane though.

why? we passed the el rosario dump heading north once. there was a dog, followed by 4 puppies running north along the bluff on the right side. i was screaming for my buddy to stop so i could try to coax a puppy to me, be it with food or friendship. he wouldn't stop or turn around. something about not being able to help them all. i told him i only wanted to take the one who wanted to come along...

i'm still looking for "that" special baja dog.

Here is a post from Amy and a photo of Pickle

His name is Pickle. He is a tan lab/great dane mix. He is very friendly, but I'm sure very scared. He was wearing a collar with a tag that had our numbers on it; both U.S. and Mexico. He was last seen by a witness, running west into the desert at km 224 1/2.
The reward is currently $300 usd, but I am willing to do what it takes to get back my sweet boy.

I honestly can't say but I think this dog looks more like a golden retriever ... reddish longer hair ... but I sure wish it WAS pickle :)
