I am so sorry for you fur friend loss. Any posts about dogs affect me deeply and sometimes it takes a few days before I can respond. What a cutie your little one was! And those shades...
Now I am going to have to see if Paco will tolerate me putting shades on him and then train him to not knock them off. Well, your photos really gave me a chuckle.

I hope this will give you a chuckle: Our temperature lows are getting down into the low to mid 20s. I bought a dog coat for him because I often have to leave him in the truck at night while I am in town and up to no good. He probably doesn't need it because he has a good natural coat and he doesn't seem to mind the cold. I check him often and he doesn't shiver.

Anyway, last night I put it on him for the first time. He looked really weirded out. I put him in the truck for a few hours and then, when I was ready to go, I took him for a walk to do his business.

Here is the funny part: He looked real nervous. We walked and walked and then I let him off leash in a parking lot. He still looked weirded out. I finally realized that he thinks he can't pee with that coat on (even though they are designed with no part of the coat underneath).
I took it off of him and he ran over to a dirt spot and peed away. Then he jumped around with joy and was very playful...very happy!

RIP Tonya. One of life's dirtiest tricks - doggie years. Hard to image how they become so important to us, and how we grieve when they die. Here's something I wrote just before losing one of our favorites, our sweet bulldog Rosie:

Being a dog lover all my life, and currently have five Aussie Sheppards....

I am sure that your dog had the life! You sound like a perfect human companion that spoiled the dog left and right ...the way it should be. Sorry for your loss.

Now....there's another little feller that needs you, I bet!

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

ABSOLUTELY ----too many pups need really good homes and any one of them would be lucky to be adopted by captkw.

That special dog cannot be replaced or duplicated and will always be there-----but there is another pup waiting who is special in his or her own way.
