Sta Rosalia 55/41 with 28 MPH Wind?
I must admit, even with all my year-round experience in Baja California Sur, I have never seen numbers like this. Weather Underground issued the
forecast for today.
Is it really that miseable down that way? If it's accurate, then folks would need a heater. My heart goes out to them.

It's 46 right now in San Felipe. This happens now and again. I've been in Cabo when it was too cold and windy to eat at the outdoor restaurants. Kinda
the same conditions that bring Santa Ana winds to So. Cal.

Just returned to Mulege from Santa Rosalia, the dust was terrible. The waves in front of the house in Mulege are amazingly large. It is still a whole
lot better than most of the other states in the U.S. today
What we see depends mainly on what we look for.

the coops have given an order to beach all the pangas cause its supposed to blow even harder tonight and tomorrow morning...ewwww....quite nice here

Today wasn't bad on the central Pacific coast of BCS, but yesterday set the wind record for the past year we've owned the current home weather
station- 38 mph.
It was out of the NW so it comes off the desert here and any cleared areas and streets in the town were white-out conditions - muy feo.
If you don't have a home wind gauge, FYI a patio resin chair will take flight at 35mph.

I rode out Julio and Jimena over here on the Sonoran coast and these conditions are MORE unpleasant than that. We have a mix of 50 degree air, 30 kt
winds carrying the finest dust you can imagine. It's horrible!!!
Chicago has had whiteouts in the last 24 hours; so have we, for all practical purposes.

We had ten foot waves breaking on the beach in San Bruno which is south of Santa Rosalia about 15 miles. Top wind was over 45 mph. Some people do
not find Bouyweather to be very accurate according to their assesment but this storm was dead on within 1 hour of prediction and has so far exactly
matched the predictions. Needless to say I did not go fishing this morning.

bouyweather was right on here too...it is now blowing about 28-30 knots NNE...nasty as all get out...good thing the coop beached all the pangas this
afternoon.
but that didnt stop us from enjoying a wonderful wine wednesday thanks to Redmesa!!!!!

Define wonderful wine, please.
Our definition has changed since we move down here. We accept much less as we cant get much for the same price point/flavor quotient. Usually its an
overpriced wine from Baja, Chile or Argentina.
But one, reasonably priced winery, has remained true to our NOB, California tastes. Adobe Emiliana; an organic, second label of a respectable winery
in Chile, is the one. We had their Merlot (like Miles, I generally have an aversion to Merlots), but it has more depth than a 30 dollar Merlot in the
States. Not that I order Merlots unless I have to. But tonight, I had to. At as fancy a restaurant as there is in San Carlos (they have Chateaubriand
AND curried chicken flambéed at your table), the wine was only 140 pesos. It can be had for around 100 pesos at retailers. Try the Chard, the Merlot,
the Cab, the Carmenere, and their blends. I havent tried all their wines but I am beginning to realize I dont need to. Just go for them. These are
organic wines that are all about environmental sustainability. This is not important to many; at certain price points, it becomes unimportant to me.
But not this winery. All their wines kick ar$e!!!!
A wine post within a weather post.............damn, that's a good wine!!!!!!
