Been eating my heart out!!

Since I got out of the hospital, went in because the doctor said I had entirely to much Baja Dust in my heart and other parts…Told him I would just wash it out with a few shots of really good Tequila…No dice said he, (dang this is a terrible sentence but I guess all I can do is hang with it) I been listening to my fellow Nomads shouting praise about Bahia Asuncion and what Shari has been doing down there to make it a great place to kick back and pet the whales, swim with the sea lions, fish, hike, bike and a bunch of other stuff.

So! Jaime and I started to plan an eight day trip to see if that road is really bad as some say (Shari says it is paved and in good shape—whatever that means in Baja) and try our hands at most of the petting whales and other stuff.

Problem…Called Shari and she said come on down and have some relaxing fun…Told her we were planning our trip for March 8th through the 15th and she put a screeching stop to our plans when she said her whale watching trips were scheduled for the weeks before and after we had planned on being there.

Gave the phone to Jaime and they talked and talked—yeah for a real long time—heck it was my dime. Jaime loves whales about as much as Shari does and by the time they finished their “talk” Shari had agreed to see if she could fill a trip for the time we could be there.

So here’s the deal—I thought it would be great if we could put together a Baja Nomad trip to see the whales and at the same time give us a chance to see some of my old friends and perhaps meet some new ones.

Wow and Whoopee!! Just talked to Shari and she believes that would be fantastic. Told me she was working on the trip now.

So! If you are interested just let her know…it should be a ball.

Bernie

I WISH I could be there Bernie, but alas.......Shakespeare at Rancho Buena Vista will be happening and well, I just got back, and it is a really long bus ride. I promise it would be worth adjusting your days to Shari's schedule.

Would love to be able to adjust our schedule but we fly into Ohara on the 17th and then take a leisurely 12 days to drive back to San Diego.

Yep! We are ferrying a vehicle back with all expences paid save our food and lodging...Should be most fun.

Sara, will never forget the Festival I caught when I was last down there...Will get together soon...if you are not in the land of the little people.

We will be arriving in San Felipe on the 26th. Any way to transport a few whales over to San Felipe for our viewing? Wish we could make it :(

No problem on the transport, I will talk to Captain Kirk and simply have them beamed over.

Bernie...there are some new potholes...actually old potholes just opened up again and pretty nasty on a 5 km stretch just leaving Vizcaino so heads up there...dont get going too fast cause they are deep and ya have to zig zag all over the place to avoid them...the sand dunes have been cleared after the big winds and the rest of the road is pretty good...again..dont get going too fast on the new paved part after the turnoff as there are a couple big dips the first 2 km's and the big curves just before Asuncion are sharp too.
We'll see what happens for the whale trip eh....cross our fingers.

Seriously !!

There have been years that I could almost get out and walk --but we generally have to throttle back and take our time if they are up and around . I don't want to get any of those big mamas mad !

A few years there are only dozens in sight .

Will watch for you , but not sure when I am around --spring break for some of our Grand Kids .
