Unbelievable deal at Marcos' Auto Electric - Mulege
The other day I finally found the time to take my Dodge into Marcos Canet's auto electric shop. To repair the faulty driver's side window.
I kept messing up and spitting onto the always closed window. Yucko..!
I estimate that this repair in California would have been 500 bucks.
Here at Marcos', the amount was 240 pesos. About 23-24 bucks.
In North Dakota it would have been 25 bucks. 
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

yeah Pompano...look at the back ground of the second picture. All that junk....disarray...questionable parts.....
I think these Baja shops can out do any California shop with most issues of one's automotive needs. You are right...the prices are great. The service
is great.
Now...remember how Sear's used to put the screws on ya?
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

The guy is a gem - between him and the other Marcos (under the bridge) we in Mulege have two of the best around. Jim

Right you are, Jaime. 'Marcos under the bridge' is a fine mechanic. Did the tranny on my 4X4 Dodge a couple years
ago. i had really screwed it up, and the heat was driving me north very quickly.
Marcos asked me how slow I could stand driving? (I think he has seen me at Mach 2 a few times before..).
I asked how slow?..I was really not concerned about speed so much as air-conditioning.) He said less than 45mph. I said that's fine..and to check
the AC out.
He disconnected the rear drive..put it in 4X4, leaving me in frontwheel drive only. He said it would be okay to Ensenada or San Diego. I had my
doubts, but took off for San Diego anyway. I did the 38-40 mph thing all the way north to somewhere by a vineyard area..(can't remember quite where
that was..I know the one store only sold Tecate..barf.) . For some absurd reason I attempted to screw the tranny up again by working on the rear
drive myself. DO NOT DO THIS. I don't know what came over me to try hooking up the drive again. It could have been too much AC..or the bad Tecates.
Well, I was lucky that day. Another very helpful guy came along, sized up my problem and said..You can drive it by disconnecting the rear drive and
use the front wheel drive in 4X4. Oh, really?? Duh..I was too embarassed to tell him that was how I started from Marcos Under The Bridge. 
I ended up driving with front wheel only all the way to North Dakota..a distance of 2800 miles from San Diego. Why? Because I was in no big
rush..and it just seemed like an adventure I should try once in my life. I made terrific fuel mileage and got zero tickets for driving too
slow. I stayed at 14 motels....
...naw, not really that many.
I wonder what the next trip north will bring?

At the moment Marcos should be finished working on my Jeep.
This one with Sarah Palin in the passenger seat.
At least the other night when I saw him driving around town with his family all jammed into the Jeep and the music blaring... I assumed it to be
ready?? 
Hah..not to worry, it's part of living in Baja. You go with the flow.

problem.

Guys, Marcos Canet..the auto electrician found that my electric window motor had a bad bushing. Well, he was fresh out of 2000 Dodge 2500 Ram
electric window motor bushings..so he scrounged up a busted one from a different make and model..and created a working one on the bench ..where you
see working in that 'parts' photo.
Personally, if my pacemaker ever goes bad, I wll put my faith in Marcos to revive me before Happy Hour.
