I think the old boy is just pulling our chain and is sitting back and grinning at all the reactions.
He definitely doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who would let some opinions get the best of him.

Sometimes they don't come back. Stephanie Jackter swore she would never post here again, and I'll be if she didn't stay true to her word.

There have always been a few buttheads here.

Newbies usually enter with reverence unless they are trolls or arrogant miscreants.

Give Roger some space to work stuff out. He'll be back.:light:

Pompano?:o Your humor, wisdom, advice, pictures, etc. gone from the forum? Hope not! You must have had a reeeel bad day. Never thought any newbie or oldie would cause you to step aside. This must be one of your jokes. I'm waiting for the punchline.

Sorry..bad word choice.

Sorry..my bad, folks.

I mistakenly gave you the wrong idea....through my bad choice of a term. I meant 'newbees' in another context...as in 'new to Baja' newbees. Not the newbee commonly used on Nomads to refer to a new poster.

I am going offline and my life will become more private due to personal matters. I have lost something dear to my heart and it has nothing to do with this forum or any BajaNomads. It's more of a loss of a certain Baja feeling…like a life-long love affair...and a realization that times will never be like they once were...nor will the newbee-strangers be the same as us Old Farts de Baja.

This loss I brought about myself, so don't waste any sorrows on my account. I sometimes put the whole leg down my throat...along with too much demon-rum! Not to worry, I will handle it...along with apologies to the appropriate parties.

Hah…I do get myself into the damnedest situations! Like my compadre, Randy, often reminds me, “Roger, I know you well, but I love you anyway.” Thankfully, I am blessed with true friends…and the love of a good woman.

These nostalgia events are inevitable in most situations, I suppose, and doubly so if you are active in life. For me, it's time to step aside and reflect a bit, then move on.

Like Carl Sandburg said.."The past is but a bucket of ashes, so live not in your yesterdays."

Thanks for all the kind words. I've always enjoyed posting here.

Roger, give me a call again next time you are up my way...

In the meantime, just take a vacation from Baja instead of to Baja... Baja will win you back as it has everyone who has spent any time there. Your contributions here are very valuable to so many and improve the quality of the Baja experience to us all!

While you might take a break from Baja, please don't take a long break from Baja Nomad!

See you down the highway amigo!

This is your tackle box- Is it something I said?
Life always takes unexpected turns and it's good to take time and reflect. I always find after I have finished my assessment I can vigorously pursue my new path. I hope yours leads you back to Baja and the family you have created with all of us.
