Inmigrado Paperwork is Complete

The ceremony is on Friday, 8 April at the Palacio Municipal in Rosarito.

No more FM3, FM2 renewals.

As I was cleaning the fingerprint ink off my thumbs, the official who had assisted me said, "It will be a party."

It is a great feeling when they hand you the FM2 book with the imagrado stamp in the back. Now all we do is go down in February and sign, no more bank account, no more paper work, just present the book, sign and have the book signed, smile and leave the office!

Ahh! No More Inmigrado Book Either

Now, it is a plastic card like the U.S. Passport card.

But they are not replacing the books with cards at this time, if you have had Inmigrado status for a while.

Gotta ask

Did you consider citizenship?

If so, why not?

Congratulations! I am hoping to have the same celebration some day. How long did you have to have the FM2 before applying to be Inmigrado?

Party? All I got was my book back and nasty face from the short bonehead immigration officer at the Ensenada office.

Forgot to mention that if you are traveling in Mexico and are arriving at any airport and they ask you for your passport you had better have it even if you show them you are an immigrado and have your card or FM2 with you. You still MUST have your passport. I learned the hard way.

Hi grace59

After you receive your FM2, it is a five year wait and you must renew the FM2 each year four times.

Then you can apply for inmigrado.

Hi lizard lips

I am so sorry that you got the bad end of the business.

The people in the SEGOB office in Rosarito have been efficient, unfailing polite and even very friendly.

The Palacio Municipal has prominently put up posters titled "Codigo Eteticos" in every office window facing the inner courtyard in this three-story building.

Gypsy,

That guy at the Ensenada office has always had it in for me for some unknown reason! Everyone else I have contacted there has always been very nice.

Is he a little guy with a Napoleonic complex?

Once, years ago, he shuffled me all over hell and back gettin' three copies of this and six copies of that. I could tell he was having great fun at my expense.

EsStoopid Gringo.

Has to be the same guy. Years ago I had taken friends to that office so they could get their visa's to go south. At that time there was no charge but this guy asked for $10.00 each. I saw this and told him they did not have to pay and he got so red in the face I thought his head would blow up. I asked for the big cheese and he handed everyone their papers and we left. That had to be 25 years ago when the office was across the street from where it is now. I know this is not the reason he picks on me he is just a bully with a uniform. I hope one day we meet somewhere alone and can have a nice long talk.

Last time coming into SJD airport, immigration told me that fm2 and fm3 could use the National entry kiosk,, even if others with you were fm3 or lower.
