Cataracts Mulege Optomologists Please PM

I am headed south and I do indeed have cataracts and I have the earlier diagnosis (3 mm. diameter), and would much appreciate knowing if these critters are growing on me.

Please PM me with the particulars if you could. Thank You.

What are you asking for, David? Your message is not clear. Are you asking for clinic days/hours of operation, phone numbers, appointment info, etc.?

Hi Toneart, I posted that message above in a rush, meaning half-blind with glare. My eyes take a half an hour to adjust from bright baja sunlight to room quality lighting, and I rushed things.

I understood perhaps incorrectly that a team of opthomologists or eye surgeons were going to hold a clinic here in mulege and I would be estatic to have my eyes examined to tell if the cataracts are growing. I simply cannot afford to pay five thousand dollars to have ultrasound lens replacement performed. There is a german eye surgeon in Guatemala City but there are a lot of kilometers between here and there.

Hola DavidE,

There are two opthalmologists in la paz named LECHUGA. the younger is the son and is supposed to be super educated in his profession and has all the latest equipment and the education to use it.

i have even spoken to a man in los barriles that had a detatched retina that was inoperable in the U.S. but operated on with success by DR. LECHUGA. i have heard other testimonials from people in la paz that he is the only opthalmologist to use, period.

cataracts should be an easy procedure as i have had them both done in the U.S. in the late 90's.

if interested in his contact info, please u2u me as i am having computer problems and had to have my computer returned to the " new " configuration and need to reinstall everything.

BIEN SALUD, DA RAT

DavidE,

I am not aware of an Opthomologists' clinic here in Mulege. The Rotary Clinic will be occupied by a dentist for the next few weeks. I will look and ask around, and if I find out anything I will post it. Good luck.
Tony

The closest one is Guerrero or La Paz.
