Here I am shining a light on the great value of internet information systems while missing the bus to the information highway myself.
Just updated my old boat trailer and I’m now working on my panga/motor getting ready for a very active summer fishing season. All my fishing gear is
ancient and I really don’t have any left over pesos to make it newer-better except some maintenance. If, for equipment degradation, I can’t fish
anymore, I’ll die. Everyone knows that – my chronic condition is not being able to fish. So maybe would that qualify me for some help?
I’m old, I’m a vet (Navy, mine sweepers, Battle of Seattle, gedunk medal holder) and I can easily demonstrate a need for assistance.
Is there perhaps some kind of Fishing Equipment Stamp Program out there? I’ve always been pretty independent, a boot strap kinda guy but now with
Mexican gas prices going off the Mexican charts, import fees and inflation I find I’m barefoot, without boots or straps to pull up.
It’s campaign season and the U.S. government is busy telling those in need what grand gifts there are coming their way but I haven’t heard one word
about Rod Relief or Reel Assistance, Line help, Lure vouchers, etc.
If you Nomads know of a program that might accept my application for aid and I must clearly state my cause and level of assistance, I admit it is not
a “Life or Death” situation. It’s a helluva lot more serious than that.
If you’re smart and hooked up to government help, please let me know.

i'm smart, and run from govt everywhere i find them.
but i know some people hermetically sealed to the govt teat, and if they have some ideas i will surely pass them on.

Fishing Benefit Transfer (FBT) is an electronic system in the United States that allows state governments to provide financial and material benefits

Hey Jorge, I'd be happy to give you back that pink "sure thing" Pez Gallo lure that you gave me a while back. I've caught enough fish on it, it is
kinda anticlimactic using it, knowing that every cast results in another 20 pounder flopping on the beach kinda takes the fun out of it after a while.
I'll bring it by next time I'm in the neighborhood....it'll cost you a beer to get it back though.....dt

And thanks Howard. I'll have my secretary look into that one. In the meantime I'm gonna contact Fin-Nor direct to see if they would accept regular
food stamps. My big question would be "How many U.S. food stamps for your new titanium 80 W?"

The dept of Veterans affairs has a program for vets recreation ,that may help
, I served in the navy and spent 13 years on sweeps and in mine pac from 1963 till 1976 , what sweeps were you on ??

I was Radarman 1st but just did one hitch. Didn't see much action. I did fall off the radar mast 30 feet. No big deal. I was used to hardships.

There actually is a benefit program out there specifically designed to lure fishermen. The only catch is that its location is constantly changing
with the seasons and tides. The benefits also get bigger each time you talk about them. I hear hunting for the place is a great way to kill time
though...............
