Adorable puppy needs home immediately

Yesterday we rescued a puppy (named Taquito) from the Mulege dump that is in immediate need of a good home. It is a male, looks to be about two months old (lap size) and at least part black lab. He has a healthy shiny black coat with a white ascot on the neck/chest and small white booties. It is in good physical shape and shows no signs of physical abuse (though he has a poorly healed torn pad on its paw). He is an extremely affectionate pup that is loving the human attention it is currently receiving.

We are presently in Punta Chivato and will be travelling down to La Paz on Friday. So we could make stops in Loreto, Constitution, or La Paz. We have exhausted all leads in the Mulege area, as well as the animal clinic here.

If anyone would be willing to take on this adorable little guy or can point us to someone or an organization that would please U2U with contact info and we'll call as soon as we can (will check back on borrowed internet later today). We are ready to pay for any needed vet care (shots, neuturing, etc.) - we just would like to see this little guy have a chance at a nice life.

Thanks all for your help.

Unable to post an image presentaly - don't have software to scale down. Could probably email photo later to anyone with genuine interst or could scale and post on our behalf.

I think you're the same person I just spoke with over the phone. I look forward to meeting you in Loreto on Friday. I'll try and post a photo of the pup too.

good for you!!!
my former landlord said that the Mexican term for it (the process of dumping puppies where someone might take them in) is 'taking out the trash.' I try to convince myself that the dumpers are acting compassionately, rather than drowning or abusing the pups, but...it's a stretch.
we're seeing a lot less of the practice here in Loreto since Animalandia has been running spay/neuter clinics.

reality\'s never been of much use out here...

Good for you Taquito!!! Off to a good life, thanks to some good folk that went the extra mile for you. Job well done! See, a helping hand can change a life, not only for a pup but for people too. Many times I've seen good things happen here on BN with just a little thing called taking action! And the return on investment is quite rewarding:biggrin:

Pam,

Yes it was us you spoke to and we are so thankful for your willingness to help us find a home for Taquito in Loreto. Please check your U2U

Turns out Taquito tugged our families heartstrings pretty hard during the time we were trying to find him a home and when it came right down to it, we couldn't part with him. He flew back home with us yesterday and is contentedly sleeping with on my lap as I send this message.

Many thanks to those who offered their help, support and kind words.
