Wow, what a guy. Maybe Mexico will hire Steve Schwab to bail out the Loreta Bay Company's unfinished business. Wonder if we could get him to hype,
sell and finish our slow moving marina here? Bernie, don't you wish you lived in Mexico? Oh, I forgot, the good days are over. So why did you give us

Just shows how you can make just about anything seem like whatever you want by cherry picking some stats, omitting others, and lying where you think
you can get away with it.
As usual, reality lies somewhere between what the nea- and yea- sayers would have you believe.
To me the nice thing about Mexico is that you can find a nice place and make your own reality. If it doesn't work out, you can move on to some other
place. Same could be said about the US.

I was just reading J. Ross Brown's account of traveling in Southern Baja in 1866. One thing that gets mentioned a few times are all of the scams aimed
at bilking would-be colonists hatched in other countries, which painted Baja as an agricultural paradise, complete with rivers and non-existent
communities. How little things have changed in the interveening years.

Wordperfect was and still is among the best and fastest word processors, far better than Office 10, it's nice to have options though many options
aren't worth the price tag or waste of time. The 8088 PC XT with wordperfect works fine as does a late model car.
Though look at homes in California where 1million for a starter home is a tear down-how does that make sense to a new buyers or seniors. Certainly
purchasing in baja may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is among many other valid options. The article makes some good points, that Mexicos
economy is in a much better position than the USA, so is Brasil, and many other options worth considering.
The nice thing about BCS is that you can fly there in 2.5 hours from SF/LA and there are options to purchase or rent and the lifestyle is healthy, yet
sometimes boring for some people.
I find that when people join together they can make a community just the way they like and few obstacles can stop them. Camp grounds are examples of
this, you can camp for $300/month and live in a very fine community. You can probably also rent a house for $300 month in BCS on the low side, so
maybe renting/camping is the valid conclusion of Steve Schwab's essay?
Or as our fearless leader/investor adventure guide DK would put it, spend your money on a good set of tires and shocks and have fun! wahoo

I have a very good friend who is heavily invested in the Mexico stock exchange and has done very well over the last five years with those investments.
This guy does business on both sides of the border and is a major importer of grocery items for all of Mexico. He sat down and showed me the
difference of his two portfolios and it was certainly impressive to see what MXX has produced. He sent me a copy of this same article as a discussion
point and then highlighted the areas that were suspect but also in depth discussion and places to go to get more information.
The downside is that 1 share of MXX begins at around 30K so that may leave out some of the commenters who probably would not buy in at $30.00.

I Love the BP read Bernie, best part of this post.
Of course I have invested EVERYTHING including heart and soul in being here in L.B., it was the right choice for me. Although how did Dylan put it;
"if You ain't got nothin, you got nothin to lose", all I had when I came here 21 years ago was $3K and some change.
