Sorry, don't care

I don't eat commercially harvested fish.

And...Folks from Nebraska or Idaho should be eating what comes from their local lakes and rivers. The idea that the whole friggin planet deserves fresh seafood is raping the oceans.

Have seen commerecial fishermen sell all sorts of fish. Put a fancy/popular name on a piece of garbage and folks will buy it. Anybody that will buy Jurel under the name of Dorado is too dumb to know the difference anyway. Example: Most folks won't purchase Mullet, but will buy Lisa. Same thing. ;)

Local and Sustainable

Yes, Dave, I agree with you completely.

On the web you (you meaning the greater universe of Nomads) can easily find information about your local farmers' markets and I urge you to support them.

Ok fellas,

I am from Idaho, And I love and (know) the difference between jurel and dorado, They are both delicious. I especially enjoy catching and eating them, even bringing back a cooler full of fillets, when I can. But please don't slam us poor fishing fools from up north, we'll eat anything :wow:

I can't remember if I have ever bought fish from a store, prefer to catch it. The fact that the fish are being mismarked for a better marketing campaign is disheartening and disturbing.

I wonder what they will use as a substitute for oysters...

Kiss Off,
Most people from Idaho do not eat salt water fish unless they caught it, excepting salmon which is a farm raised fish in most stores.
So shove it!!!!

I'm happy to purchase commercially harvested fish, when and where I can find 'em. Will not knowingly purchase Asian seafood products. Aquaculture and strictly enforced regulations will eventually solve the problems caused by overfishing. Have greatly reduced my seafood consumption due to high prices. The local bluegill and crappie taste great. They're also fun to catch.;D

The yellow tail shown in the article is an east coast fish not the Jurel we all know. Just thought I would point that out.
Still the yellow tail from the east does not get very big so maybe they are just using the wrong picture.
Who really knows?????

dave and baron bob both sound like pompous.

as a former commercial fisherman, i have an appreciation for getting my fish from the market.

pompous fishermen that say they eat only their own catch are as silly as people that say they only brush their teeth with homemade tooth brushes
