Didnt Aldo date back to the Amigos de Baja days? Or am I thinking of Fred's board?

In any event, it is said when someone so important to a family is taken from them so early. Whether it be the immediate family or the family that is the internet.

Sad news indeed. Condolences to family and friends.

We honeymooned in La Paz and ended up following a tip from Aldo on a dive boat run by friends of his. When we got to town and went to office to sign up he was there and ended up going out on the boat with us the next day. We got in the water with giant mantas and up close with whale sharks. Aldo talked to us about how much he loved La Paz and being in and under the water whenever he could.

We hope the best for his children.

Yes, Amigos de Baja (until it retired in 2003)...

I sure hope his kids are of age or else some family members from Italy comes for them.

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and comments. I’ll save them as a future memory for his kids when they will be more mature.
My name is Alex, Aldo’s cousin from Italy, and I am here for a few weeks.
If anyone has any picture, story or additional thoughts to write about Aldo, I’ll be happy to receive them in order to add to a biographic collection which I am preparing for the kids. You can use directly my e-mail.
Sincerely,
Alex

Thanks for joining Nomad, Alex... Many of us have communicated with Aldo over the years on the Internet. Tragic how quickly life can end and the void leaves ripples in the universe of our lives.

Wow, very sad, he was so young. So sorry for the kids and his family!
