Chica, a Baja Cat
I post a great deal about our Baja dogs, but, this evening when she was sitting in my lap, I thought that I should share her history.
She is an eight-year old, creamy-tortoiseshell with long hair.
Her mother, Dulcinea, is about eleven-years old and lives in our garage.
Early on, Dulcinea went back and forth out of our garage and had several litters in other locations. Finally, we caught her and took her to the vet -
no more kitties.
Somewhere around around that time, a friend knocked on our door and I saw a little kitty tied up to an electrical cord. The friend said, "This is
Dulcinea's kitten."
I untied the cord and the kitten disappeared inside our house and, by choice, has never gone outside again.
Up to now, she has coped with (cough - Intimidated) the various Rottweilers, German Shepherds and Great Danes in the house.

As long as we're on the cat subject, anyone have advice on taking care of cats in Baja---outside of the major cities that is. I imagine coyotes are
the biggest problem but are the cats okay during the day (of course bring them in at night)? Just thinking ahead to when we get started building a
little shack one of these years...we'll have to camp for awhile with the cats while its being built.

We let our cats out during the day but definitely in at night.

Yes- You need to keep a close eye on your outdoor cats during the day and get them in before dusk - otherwise RIP Kitty - coyotes dogs cars snakes
