Don't Cut in Line at Tecate.
Well that is what we assume happened. Yesterday mid-day we waited about 1 1/2 hours in line at Tecate---the end of the line was back on the main
street.
When we were much closer we watched the local police remove two gringo cars from the line---as we and others drove around one of them while the police
were talking to the driver, we noticed the Baja Nomad bumper sticker. We won't mention the make or color of the vehicle.
We assume that after they left the line, they were headed for the end of the line and it was a very hot day.
This is all based on assumptions----but we could think of no other reason the police pulled them out of line?

I hope that was only because it was the first day after a three day weekend.

Agent there one time told us to avoid returning on all Mexican and US holidays and the day after any of them. Sunday and Mondays are also not the
best.
When we saw the end of the line, John turned to me and graciously admitted that he should have listened to me when I suggested we wait one more day
before we returned----I just smiled nicely, while silently in my head I was screaming---I TOLD YOU SO!!! I TOLD YOU SO!!!
If it had been a Toyota PU, I would have jumped out and taken 15 pictures!

It had California license plates.
Seriously, there will be no more clues---not my job. They may wish to remain under the radar. And besides, I am making assumptions. Maybe they
requested the nice policeman pull them out of line so they could stay a little longer in Tecate---maybe have lunch, or find a bathroom, or maybe it
was car trouble---lots of possibilities---the driver, however, was not smiling for whatever reason.

So maybe as was mentioned, the holiday was the cause of a major back up. However, I have previously suggested that the wonderful improvements to the
highway between Ensenada and Tecate would lead to major delays at the fence, in that the Tecate crossing has so few gates available.

OhhhhhPuleeeeze....you're being too kind. You're also denying us our gawd-given right to stand him in front of all assembled Nomads and strip his
epaulets from his Hawaiian Shirt.
I really don't care, but I'm surprised a Nomad would cut in line without an extraordinary reason. Other than a medical emergency, I hope that was the
case.

The Ready Line at Otay
We have been crossing to the U.S. once a week for the last couple of weeks.
Today, at mid-afternoon, the Ready lane wait was more than two hours.
I guess, because of the mess at San Ysidro, that is why we witnessed a pretty aggressive amount of line-cutting-in at Otay.
If the police that are stationed there see it, they do pull the vehicle out and send it to the back.

and for him, the firing squad would surely follow---or at least the verbal firing
squad.

Blanca the house may or may not sell---we are serious as there are other projects calling our name, but we also love our place.
And you are invited to come and sit on the front porch any time we are there---it is an open invitation! Come around during the fiesta time---a
really fun time in Asuncion.

A couple years ago we were in line at Tecate. As we inchwormed forward a car wedged its way into the spot in front of me. A woman with a couple of
kids, Cali plates. Not much I could do, myself and others let her know we weren't pleased. About 15 minutes later a Tecate PD car pulled up and the
cops walked over and pulled her out of line. Whether they took her to the back of the line or the station we don't know. The wife and I laughed
about that all the way back to Idaho.

Another advantage to Sentri, fewer line cutters. More civilized drivers.
