Back from Baja... Freaky Fourth Weather! Art (edm-1) news.
Here is a trip (brief) report... A full report, photos, Hwy. 5 road log (San Felipe to Laguna Chapala) all coming... Check trip reports forum and road
conditions forum later...
On Friday, we (Kristi, Baja Angel and I) drove to Shell Island... Saturday was awesome... perfect weather...
Art (edm-1) in his new 4WD motorhome was late and arrived during full tide and could not get onto the beach... because it IS on an island... with 18'+
high tides.
Saturday night, hurricane force winds wipped up, destroyed our pop up sun canopy and ripped the side of our tent... No sleep all night! Art and his
wife camped across the lagoon from our spot on the island and came over the next morning bringing lumpias and ox tail soup! They went shell collecting
while we packed up... We all were off the island and headed south a day earlier then planned...
We spent two wonderful nights at Baja Cactus in El Rosario... showed Kristi some of the area sites and came home yesterday... It RAINED in El Rosario
Tuesday morning!
A Freaky Fouth of July Weekend, indeed!!!
Art is headed south, but Nora couldn't get a Tourist Card, as her passport was expired and they wouldn't issue her one in Mexicali... So they may not
go into Baja Sur because of that... (Yes Shari, I did tell them about the other way across the border)
Stay tuned for lots of photos and Hwy. 5 details in the appropriate forums!

That's pretty amazing to get rain in July on the coast---was it a monsoon or a late northerly? Baja has wind everywhere---I've had a couple tents
ripped apart from the west coast low pressure systems that sweep thru.

Yes, we got to ba ja Sur.
The imigracion guy at the norte/Sur border was very kind and gave my wife an FMT on account of her dl id
and citizenship paper.

I drove, why?
The plan was to spend Monday night at Baja Cactus to show Kristi the place her mom has raved about for the past 6 years... and La Lobera, too!
Because of the wind destroyoing our camp stuff, we just went there a day sooner... South on Hwy. 5 with a brief tour of Rancho Grande, Campo Beluga,
and Sacraficio (in case we wanted to spend a night at any of those places (not)! Then we turned north at Laguna Chapala to El Rosario... got there
before sundown.

Looking forward to your photo and trip report.
