Happy Birthday Tijuana


It's Tijuana's official birthday today. It's a long story why they picked this particle day as TJ's birthday, but I guess July 11, is as good as day as any other.

The Mayor Carlos Bustamante has been talking about the improved condition in the Tijuana area in another article the Mayor said something like, "people no longer have to walk around on high alert." Sorry I no longer have that article at my fingertips and not sure of the exact quote, but I think I'm pretty close. I agree with the Mayor that things are looking better in Tijuana.

In another article from the "El Sol" they have an article about the first ever half and full marathon in Tijuana that coincided with the 122 year old birthday of Tijuana. The event was very successful and had a large turnout of runners. The TJ marathon even drew a large number of foreigners, and that is yet another sign on how safe Tijuana is according to the mayor.
