best taco stand - again

in san quintin it's La Pasadita for srhimp (not a typo!) tacos.
in maneadero it's El Poblano.
near san miguel it's El Trailero.

Poblano was just opening up when i passed thru around 10am so i headed to Trailero for the first time. i think it is pretty even as to which is best, but Trailero made my day! TKT was 40 minutes at 11:30am.

oh, and the surf was epic! only 1 or 2 guys in the water at any time for 4 days..... life is good!

edit: forgot to add lengua tacos at the stand next to catavina store.

I could use a recommendation for a best taco stand off the main drag heading into San Felipe.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

Tacos El Yaqui in Rosarito are a little different, but very good!

These endless lands and unique waters are not simply soil and sea. These elements of earth and water are as much a part of me as my blood and organs. After you pass the last light on the Reforma in Chapultepec, look left and find "Tacos el Original." By far the best in Baja; it's owned by the same folks that own "el Poblano." Try the mulita with cabeza---to die for.

Traditional morning tacos i. e. carne asada y cabeza. La Otra on Valario(bus station st.) in San Jose...only open until 1pm

Fish/shrimp tacos...Blue Fish in the Peninsula Plaza where appleby's(yuck) is. It is tucked in the corner behind Scotiabank. They also have THE best ceviche, shrimp and fish, in San Jose.

El Yaqui in rosarito is really really really excellent, IMO

forgot to mention that the best part is the guy meowing .... as if they were cooking up cat !! very funny !!

love that you can sit in the shade, love that it is off the main drag, love that it is delish

Tacos el Gerente

Hugo, who was the main cook at Tacos Yaqui, opened his own place, two or three blocks north as Tacos Gerente.

The quality of the food followed him to the Gerente.

It's "el Recreo," and it's OK. Good, but not generally acknowledged as the best down here.

For meat tacos we like Tacos El Zurdo in Rosarito Beach, on the main street (Benito Juarez) across from the McDonalds.

For fish tacos we like TJ Juniors which is located on the west side of Popotla Blvd- almost to the Ejido Mazataln intersection (this is a different "Junior" from the one people also rave about near the AM/PM South Rosarito toll road exit). I just ate there Monday night: Fish Combo #2 69 pesos (2 Marlin Tacos, 1 Fried Fish Taco and Fish-water soup... the best part is the five sauces they bring including avacodo and chipotle)

May seem silly to most, but when we're headed South for a few weeks, we wouldn't consider stopping at a taco stand, in worry that our next days' travel will be frequently interrupted.

Gladly and frequently do taco stands when we are not faced with hundreds of miles of driving the next day.

It has happened more than once to us. So, consider us to be wussies.

And then, what about the tamale vendors??
