Thanks Tio. I do love playing with graphics. We met - do you remember? - at the Cerritos Surf Colony.
It doesn't look like Dora will hurt us any, but always a good idea to be prepared. I am taking down my canopy and tying down anything that may blow
away just in case. Remember how we tied down the Palapa at the Hacienda Cerritos a couple of years back? Now THAT was fun!

Shari mentioned their freezing ocean conditions and it's the same here even farther South on the Pacific side of central Baja Sur. After several days
of muy feo winds last week the water temp plummeted from the mid 70's to it's current 59°- 60°.
5-9° in mid July! We don't have to worry about tropical activity approaching from offshore until some of these icebergs melt.

Latest storm track looks like Dora will miss us completely down here at the end of the world. Too bad, we could sure use the rain. Maybe she will spin
off some thunder storms to at least dampen things. There is just too much cool water out there to the SW.
No b-tchin\' in the Baja.

DATELINE: Todos Santos 2:00 PM:
Thunder, lightning and a soft rain after enduring an overnight low of 88F with 82% humidity.
The steering mechanism for Dora, the upper level winds are unstable so my general impression is that those models are mere suggestions rather than
examples of expected routing.
When a hurricane gets trapped over cold water it tends to dump a hellacious amount of water. Dora may well end up flooding the tip.
Time to whet the old knife in preparation to carve another hurricane notch on the handle of my weather staff.

Yes, this rolling thunder has been very ominous. Power out now - running on battery and Telcel 3g. EEB Mike shows disturbances between here (todos
santos) and La Paz.

We had a real thunder and lightning show over here in La Paz last night, and a slight shower. A little wind and clouds so far today. Let it rain!

Well let's hope it goes out to sea...season is from June through Nov...of course always more active late Aug thru Oct....I did hear it was going to be
another very active season all the way around the Caribbean Basin and Mexico...

Me no like steering linkage positions for this puppy.
That gigantic bubble of hot air over much of the continental US has reduced barometric pressure readings enough to cause a high degree probably of
error in those Dora forecast models.
I am going to offer a guess that states Dora is going to take a slightly more northerly track, but then somewhere around 22 / 30 take an abrupt hook
to the right and then slow down or stall, all the while weakening because of cool(er) sea surface temperatures. Like all cyclones Dora is carrying a
lot of moisture, and it is rainfall or rather floodfall that I am concerned with. northward to around Loreto.
Pull-ease, this isn't a serious forecast but rather some light chatter. Being an aged student of the guru of meterologists, Harry Geise, allows me to
have fun sometimes.
Let's see how wrong I am/was!

Hirrocane Dora May Have Reached Category 5
A hurricane hunter reported eye wall wind speeds slightly in excess of 156 mph. Keep an eye on this turkey; I for one do not trust the NWS analysi nor
long-range forecast.

Dora looks awesome! Very shapely, too. Watch out for a right turn.
Remember thats what has happened the last few years. I won't mention names?! Every body in the southern tip area & Pacific coastline should
