Roberto, Thank You!
What a beautiful, touching and hysterically funny story!
Everything the he said about Danes is true.
By the way, if you noticed, he mentioned that this giant was the runt of a litter of twelve. I could never, ever imagine that I would be capable of
finding good homes for so many puppies.
That's why we are in the dog loving business, not the dog breeding business.

Yeah, I love Danes. I love all dogs, and the more I live and get to know people, the more I love and appreciate dogs and their company, but there are
some that have a special place. Danes are one of them. I have never had one, because my living companions (parents, girlfriends, and now wife) have
never accepted the idea. Some day. De Veras.
During my teenage years, a close friend had a harlequin. He was a majestic animal, and at first, off-putting because of size and enthusiasm. It became
quickly clear to me, that the external appearance and the actual heart and nature of this dog were two completely different things. I think I
mentioned before that a friend that lives in the San Pedro Martir and has about twenty dogs on a ranch, had a Dane she called Mica. Short for "Mi
Cagona". Indeed!

They Used to Be War Dogs
Despite the name, Great Danes are not from Denmark; there are B.C. cave drawings in Germany of their predecessors.
In the medieval ages, they were bred to attack knights in armor on horseback and knock them down in order to protect the castle.
In later years, breeders worked to take out the aggression gene, creating a mild, easy going personality.

Jan, your Great Dane was very well behaved but I know anyone entering your comfort zone will back out quickly when he starts to rise from sitting
besides your husband,LOL. Hope all is well with your animals and keep doing your reviews on places to eat down in Rosarito area, as we like to keep
trying new places down here also. Take Care & Travel Safe----"No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

I have never had a problem with any dog. I have been confronted, of course, but we worked it out pretty quickly. Like I said, the more I know people,
the more I like dogs. They are way smarter in so many ways, and get to the "heart of the matter".
All that to say that I like to think that Jan's Great Dane would recognize me as "one of the good guys".
