Maybe No Gas at the Pemex in Cantamar

Local gossip has it that the two Borja brothers are fighting and not paying the bills and that there will be no gas available at the Pemex station in Cantamar for a while.

Stand by for further updates.

The Pemex at Cantamar is About Fifteen Miles South of Rosarito

And the next nearest Pemex is in Ensenada, about forty miles south.

Consider this message a Public Service Announcement.

Where is my grant?

;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the P.S.A., Jan. I filled up at 7/11 Pemex just north of the Rosarito toll booth yesterday. I have stretched fumes too many times on that stretch to Ensenada.

The fight is between the Borja siblings and Carlos Borja's widow. Carlitos and Tacho, while not the best of brothers are on the same side in this fight.

The bottom line is that all the clowning does not sit well with Pemex. They may jerk the franchise. In the end, a family member may win the fight... but lose the war.

JP, Howodd,
Should have put my "fumes" in the context of making the r-t from Punta Banda to a busy shopping day in S.D. and back in my P.O.S. '89 Jeep Cherokee on one tank.

Bajaguy, you are correct on the Puerto Salina Pemex.

The new Pemex is one exit north of La Salina, at the Punta Piedra exit, with an OXXO.

There is a southbound exit as well. As you cross the turnout for the beach area, over the bridge, exit at the Punta Piedra turnout. It is really unmarked, and it is just as you crest the uphill section past the bridge.

It is probably the best offramp on the toll road, as I believe the developers paid to use concrete instead of 2 inches of asphalt. My house up in the Ejido above the Pemex.

The OXXO there is pretty well stocked, but I still prefer to use the small markets in La Mision. It is very nice being able to fill the truck or boat on the way into our out of the house, but the bright lights 24/7 screwed up the view at night!!

So...the road now goes up to the Ejido? I can remember when the developer blocked access.

The reason the exit is well built is because of the Punta Piedra development. There are some very well-heeled folks who have homes there.

They have some very nice homes there. Wait till a "100 year storm" hits that beach though!:o
Yah, they blocked our access for quite awhile! Had to get off at La Fonda and take the road up the river. Now there is a locked gate at the end of the road.

I also live in the Ejido. Why don't we have a security at the gate?? I see the booth has been made and we have security but still have to open the gate our selves. I just moved here so I am a rooky at the process. I do love it up here though!! You'll see me riding through on my horse.....
