Udo
Thanks so much for this post. I've long thought that the valley that Los Planes/El Sargento/La Ventana are located in must have some of the most polluted groundwater in the Cape Region, and this report definitely supports that thought. The reason for that is quite simple; if one follows this valley up to its source in the mountains, one passes through San Antonio and El Triunfo--the heart of the old Southern Mining District, an area that was extensively mined in the late 1800s. Back then, there were no environmental regulations to speak of. One of the photos I've taken in the region shows an area in a building labeled "cyanide handling area, caution." I'd have to be mighty thirsty before I'd drink the water in that valley.

A number of nomads have U2U'd me regarding filtration systems.
I will post my system when I purchase it.
However, this weekend I was in Ensenada for the wine and food festival in Punta Banda (don't miss it next year), and spoke with Terry who lives in Baja Country Club and his system appears to work perfectly with a large whole house filtration and a large carbon filter, plus a MARINE RO system for his drinking water. I'll go by and check it out. Seems to be fairly economical.

Actually, it is a whole house GE sediment filter (model GXWH20F) prior to a UV system, the Waterfixer 1000:

Thanks for the correction,Terry,

Now that I got to read about your system, I am going to put it at the top of my list, along with the Pelican.
I'll still drop by to take a look at it, Terry.I like that your system is available in 12 volts for RVs
