summer is NEARLY here in Asuncion

Our summer doesnt really get started till the ocean warms up which usually happens around the first week of August as the cold currents withdraw. But last week Dora pushed some warmer water our way and temps rose to the mid 60's to kick start our summer...which means the kids finally can get in the water! I was soooo happy to finally be able to play in the ocean without a wetsuit for the first time in many months. It's so nice to see people in the water again....here are some local bathers at our little beach...note that none are in bathing suits...typical here...love the cheerleader with the kelp pom pom!

Brisk 'n Lovely!

We have now found not one, but two Secret Beaches in the Greater Bahia Asuncion area!

Our special spots, hidden in plain sight.

Its been warm & muggy so I took a quick dip and enjoyed the waves blasting over the surrounding rocks in the private cove. Doggie-girl Suzi loves cuttin' loose on the seashore, and we even took the two kittens last week to one place that's protected from the wind (cats don' like wind I found out). They sneaked around in the bushes, played with the shore flies that love the fermenting sargasso or climbed all over me. Back to town by sunset.

looking at Terafin it appears the warm water is only as far North as Abreojos. I hope it keeps moving.

Woody... A bit too modern for me!! I like the classic version better! The older I grow the more I seem to like the classics...except when it comes to the ladies. Call me a pervert if you want, but....I still enjoy good looking, sweet young things...LOL!!!

So the water will be summer-like in December, Shari?
We'll bring out tandem kaiak. This thing will blow you away!
It's a Hobie Tandem Adventure Island, with the emphasis on island as in visiting your islands.
