absolutely spectacularly sudden toss bacwards. plate on chair claims rated 300 lbs. 8 days in hospital sin pain meds. use walker for herniated disc could not carry my meds. farmacia in front of hospital charged me 10 that is ten times the price of meds in farmacias similares, and staff would not go to farmacias similares I offered to pay taxi. result: 700 dollars for meds, not 70. no morphine, no demerol, no nothing even after surgery.

I am so sorry to hear that ... with so many nomaders in la paz, if you had been able to give a shout out, we could have come to your rescue !

my buddy in la paz took down the ointment and says he will perhaps go to todos santos next weekend. if anyone can take the ointment sooner from la paz to david's house, contact me and we can figure this out.

feel better and dump those chairs. even if they look OK.

Busted my .......on one too

Get well BN!

If we are clearly talking about those white plastic chairs.....they are garbage. Use have them in one of the clubs.....three broke ....and one really peeed off client from the three incidents. I had them all thrown out.

My understanding that these chairs has several issues. One is cheap imitations. Thinner plastic....don't believe the sticker info!

The other...do leave em out in the sun. Ya ya....some claim to be tolerant of the sun rays...I seen them shatter. Where you ask? At our San Felipe's camp office...damn chair blew off it's legs after I was sitting in it for 15 minutes.

Busted my ...PRIDE....on it!

Oh, so sorry David.
What an unhappy accident, your wrist took the worst of the sudden fall.
Rest up, laugh at every opportunity & get well soonest.

Follow your doctor's instructions & don't forget calcium tabs to strengthen those knitting bones.

Do what McFuzzy sez, get rid of those chairs and make sure no one else is ever harmed--
carve 'em up with a turkey carving knife!!

Scary. I never knew a rattan chair could be that dangerous.

Good luck with the recovery.

Great and funny story Dennis.
But the fact that the guy blew his brains out years later, kind of establishes the fact that he always was a few bricks shy of a load.

Sorry to hear you had to endure this. It was one week before you even got to surgery? Must have seemed like an eternity.

What hospital were you in?

Pain meds (narcs) are cheap for a hospital. Why in the world wouldn't they provide you adequate pain relief? That's really scary- they might as well have abandoned you on the OR table because they sure abandoned you afterwards. Ultram is not effective for the kind of post op orthopedic pain you must have had, or are having. Once a nurse, always a nurse -lemme at 'em:fire:

What kind of hardware did they use? Plates and screws and everything is on the inside via an incision? Or external "wires"?

Hope your healing goes smoothly from now on.

I'd be getting on a plane headed north. Badly done back surgery in Mexico!! You owe it to yourself to have it taken a look at to make sure its done right. From the voice of experience and 30 years of pain...
