Global Entry program for Sentri members

Have any Sentri members used the Global Entry program at the airport?

My questions are:

1) Do you need to apply for a seperate card or program if you're in Sentri?
2) Does your membership in Sentri automatically enroll you in the Global Entry program?

You are automatically enrolled in Global Entry once you have a Sentri card (it used to be that you had to make a separate appointment/interview for Global Entry but they recently changed the programs so that now enrollment in Global Entry is automatic). I have used it at LAX, Ft. Lauderdale and Atlanta; it saved me a ton of time at each airport. You don't use your Sentri card at the Global Entry kiosk; just your passport.

We signed up for Global Entry last spring, knowing we would be returning from Europe this summer. You have to apply on line through your GOES account. After submitting the form on-line you have to do an interview. We did ours at LAX. They "pre-fill out" the form, but they change things on it. If you don't correct the changes they give you the third degree at the interview. One of the question was "what other countries have you visited, except Mexico and Canada?" When my wife mentioned that we had been to both they gave her a hard time about not putting it down. I guess they hadn't read their own form. Over-all, they were real jerks and not very professional.

When we did fly back from Rome to Chicago in June, we used the handicap assistance to get through customs. Didn't need the Global Entry as we had seperate lines at each station we went through (customs, security, etc).

tjBill, you're correct, just use your passport.

SteveD, you don't have to go through that process anymore. I did it once before as well but 2 different friends of mine recently enrolled in Sentri and they were automatically enrolled into Global Entry; no more annoying interviews.

If you have had sentri more than a couple of years or have an older passport you still have to go thru the interview process and they fix your passport so it will work. I have had two friends that each had a different senario. I would suggest that you go online at goes and check if you are enrolled it will show up on your account if not you will need to go thru the process

P.S. Quit telling people. It is great not to have to wait in lines, like sentri use to be
Ha Ha

Getting there is ALL the fun!
Ok being here is fun to
