Cabalgata...last day of the Fiestas Tradicionales in Asuncion

Another Fiesta Tradicionales have come to a close...whew...the last and most important day is the day of the virgin of Asuncion who is the reason for the fiestas. She gets to go on a panga ride out to the island as well as heads up the cabalgata. Here are some photos of the event.

the procession ends at the church with a blessing of the horses and prayer as well as music. Here is a little video of one of the horses dancing and the party at the church.

The last dance of the fiestas is when the bands play till sunrise...I wanted to stay to the end but everyone else wanted to go home early..around 3...sheesh...party poopers!

Even la policia had fun that last night...here they are at the shooting gallery.

Man ol' man. Do you live in paradise or what? From all your cool postings I read....you have got to be one of the happiest ye haw in Baja!

Now...to ask a dumb question:
What is cabalgata?

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.
