Ants

While I was visiting a neighbor yesterday she saw an ant trail and instead of the insecticide she sprayed it with glass cleaner (Windex). She told me she had ants all over kitchen counters awhile back and didn't want to use the insecticide so she tried Windex and it really kills them quickly. So around food areas try glass cleaner.:light:

Or 409 and Fantastik.

But I don't have to do that anymore because i finally found the very best ant stuff ever. At the first sign of an ant, follow his path and put out a bait station. Do not spray them or give out any advanced warning! They will immediately go to the bait instead of your cookies and you will not have any further problems.

For "Protein" ants

For "Sweet Ants"

Bait stations
Bait station

The granular "protein" one seems to work in the cooler months, and the gel formula in the summer. But I rarely have to use either any more because this stuff is so effective. Trust me, I really hate ants!

If you run out of chocolate sprinkles............

..then those little black ants are sorta good for a substitute.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

A little boric acid powder mixed with some honey or grape jam does the trick. Lay it near their paths on a business card or something similar.
They take it home and feed it to the kin - bye bye.
I don't know where ants go to die but we never see the proof; they just vanish.

If you spray them you are killing the ones you can see but not the nest.

A cheaper fix than 409 is a tablespoon of dish-washing soap in a gallon of water....but as stated, unless you find the nest they'll keep coming back. I do the nuke method on the nests---put a few drops of dish-washing soap in the entrance, then pour in a teapot of boiling water.
