Batteries, solar sys, large AGM

I have run accross a deal I cannot pass up on some new batteries. So I can sell the batteries I am using now. I have 6 2v AGM's, ( makes a 12v bank) Manufactured by CD technologies, each battery is rated at 1495 amphours at the 8 hr rate. All six batteries are from the same batch. Each battery weighs 260 pounds. The date of manufacture is 9/03. I have been using these batteries for 5 years now without a problem. They show no signs of weakening. They charge to 1% of the rated capacity and then go to float. Completely maintaince free, no water to add no corrosion to clean, no equalizing, nothing just install 'em and forget 'em. I expect these batteries to last another 5 years at least.
The batteries are in Bahia de los Angeles. I will sell the set for $600 U2U me for any questions, I'll be happy to answer.

Larry,

At 1560 lbs they would tip my garage trailer over! I wish I had the panels to support them (and a real garage to put them in).

They are heavy, but you wouldn't have to worry about the wind blowing your trailer away.

Larry, may I ask what brand/size/rating batteries you have chosen to replace your existing C & D battery bank?

Thanks in advance.

Jake
I found a new (surplus) 12v bank (6-2v cells) of EnerSys power safe batteries model DDM 125-33. They are rated at 2000 amphours at the 10 hour rate. My guess is that they would be somewhere in the 2200 amphour range at the 20 hour rate which is typical for solar systems. I have the solar panels to support these batteries. I have 12, 190 watt panels on solar trackers. I have seen the panels produce 150 amps at 12v

Congratulations on the sale.

From what little I know it seems that someone got a heck of a deal. I don't think a new single 2-volt deep cycle AGM battery rated at 1495 amp-hours can be purchased at the price you wanted for all six of yours!

I am gonna learn one day . . . I hope.
