Best of luck today. It would be fun to see photos of the event if possible.

Ok guys.I am really tired but need to give ya'll an update. The place was packed. Not sure how many people were there but everyone was comfortable and happy. My daughter, Amy, who did the huge majority of organizing the event, pulled it off with only a few minor hiccups.Any of you know how much time, energy and hours, lots of hard work, will appreciate what she has done for her sister. All totalled, as far as I know we raised about 15,000 to 17,000 grand for her.A HUGE thank you to all who sent her contributions via paypal or otherwise.I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr.and Mrs.Elgatoloco, Matt and Barb(love them!!!), s.d.(Scot) such a nice guy, Bigoly and wife, great people, and had a wonderful time chatting with them all.The one auction prize that Amy and I wanted to share(but couldn't afford)was Pompanos week stay at his Casa Coyote home.We Really wanted that!! I was bought by our one and only s.d!!!Then he told us we could go with him!!We will see if he re-cants that offer..he he..There are many pictures but I don't have any of them yet. When I do I will figure out how to post some of them here to share with you .Again, Many thanks to you all.Nomads are a family of awesome people!! Abrazos, Sally edit to include that I heard Julie(Iguanna Inn) was there but I never saw her or got to meet her.I think I saw a woman running around, in a hurry for a short time.I met everone there, but no Julie!!!Edit: That was bigboy and wife, not bigoly, sorry...early to bed tonite!!

Sally,

It was indeed a wonderful event and it was a pleasure meeting your family, especially Juanita and her two beautiful daughters. I'm so glad a substantial sum was raised for your daughter Juanita. Mrs. bigboy and I had a great time and we both remarked on how organized the event was. Even though we didn't win any of the raffle prizes, we were the successful bidders on three items including Vonny's fishing trip donated by Dennis.

It was nice meeting elgatoloco, Matt and Barb. We hung out with them for most of the event and found that we had much in common and know some of the same people in Baja and here in California. It was also a pleasure talking to s.d., Scott. He is an amazing Baja aficionado with more than sixty trips to Rancho Leonero alone.

Larry and Christine

WOW -
What a nice event! Juanita, you looked fantastic and I just know you are going to continue on your path to recovery. Your family were all a joy to meet, and I agree what an amazing job they did in organizing this day. Lots of work and you all did spectacular!

Great to meet my fellow BajaNomads, and thanks to all of you who made contributions. There were fantastic items and trips donated, and I was fortunate to win some bids. An item that created a great bidding match was a gorgeous surf board. I am not a surfer but do appreciate seeing a quality board and the bidding ended in a rousting applause. The winning bidder sure looked happy.

My winning bids and raffle;
Casa Coyote - Pomano (Roger) - wow, I can't wait. I have always admired your place and life style. YES, Sally, Amy and family, do plan your available dates and lets get it reserved. Of course you are joining me, that is how I want it. Make sure Roger is there, as I will take him up on story telling and fishing.
La Costa Resort - Thank You!
Iguana Inn Hotel - Looks Fabulous!
Bocana Inn Bed and Breakfast - I have always admired your place and Nomad support!
"The Tea House on Los Rios" San Juan Capistrano - Gracias!
Images Salon, Corona Del Mar - if possible make me look good for my trips, thank you

Also many thanks to Aventura Sailing Association, the event location. Met some of your members who joined in the raffle and made our sunshine filled day a great one!

Thanks to everyone!

Sally, s.d. probably can't include all your party in his stay?....and if that's the case, I'll figure out another good time for your group...the price will be high though....One meal & TWO Pacificos at Ana's beach cafe, okay? Remember now, that's TWO beers, not ONE.

You DO like blue tarps and no-see-ums, right? ;)

Just kidding, we'll figure out a Baja Sur time for you in February, April, or May. Unless you want to go to Costa Rica and Panama with me and be a deckhand?

And...Congrats on raising a lot of usefull money! I hope it helps in a big way!!

Saludos, Roger/Pompano

P.S. - to nomad s.d. please send me an email or U2U so we can arrange the dates for your stay. Gracias.

edit to add:

Okay, Scot -s.d...just read your post above....You're one of the GOOD GUYS..kudos to you. Yes, I'll be there to welcome you and Sally and party to CasaCoyote. I think you're gonna like it..

Anybody up for some fishing and stuff?

What a wonderful event with a great turn out all for a very worthy cause! We were very suprised and pleased to see Juanita. That made the afternoon even more special. We also enjoyed meeting and getting to know a few Nomads including sd,bigboy and the mrs. Look forward to the next meet up.

Sally, it was great for me to finally meet you in person and it was very nice to see all of your extended family working hard to make the event a success. It is a lot of hard work but Amy and gang pulled it off. Glad to hear it was as successful as it was.

We left with a nice share of stuff including some fine wine and a fishing trip. A nice afternoon for sure!

Thanks Blanca and Les!

January will probably work great. I would love to see the whales, did it several years ago and still am amazed that they allow us to touch them.
I will contact you soon to reserve a time. I look forward to meeting you also.
