I sure felt it here North of Los Barriles, first the quake, then the after shock. I have a big heavy duty wood cutting board, must weigh 10 lbs that
was on a high shelf, flew about 10 ft before it fell, glad it didn't fall on me or break anything. So far, here at home that was the only thing that
jumped besides Me! Felt another after shock, very light about 3 am. Wondering where the EPA (?) center was.

Strange that it is not on USGS yet. At about 10:15 there were a lot (15-20) dump trucks & 3 empty buses headed North pass my place in Buena Vista
on the hiway. Maybe some type of explosion ?

I thought the first one felt like an explostion, but than, when it happend a secound time I figured it must be an aftershock, and than there was a
third that I felt about 3 am, and again at about 6:30 am mas o minos I felt slight movement. Heck if I know, Bear, but the dump trucks and busses
sounds spooky.

remember years ago they were blasting in the Mountains North of town. Do you think they are doing that again? If felt like it came from the mountains
behind us.. That would make sense, they need more rocks for Cabo Rivera?? People are saying they felt them all yesterday and during the night.

that is how our cluster quakes started a few years ago here, I ran outside cause I thought the cooperativa blew up! They didnt show up on the
earthquake page either for quite awhile.
I dont think Eli's breadboard would take flight if it was a truck going by or blasting nearby...nice welcome home quake for her.

There is a seismograph station located not too many miles from and almost due west of Buenavista:
http://earthquake.usgs.gov/monitoring/operations/station.php...
But it doesn't appear that the station has recorded any data since March 2011?
I also typed the Sierra la Laguna station code into this website:
http://rev.seis.sc.edu/stations.html
But no data appears there either. So maybe the reason we can't find any information on the earthquake is because the nearest station is down?

Yeo Shari, my son-in-law confirms cluster quakes it is. We are suppose to have them for the next 45 days mas o minos. Kind of an interesting welcome
home. I am just glad to be here, quakes, hurricanes, what ever, at least we have a great breeze and it isn't too hot.
I have plum forgot (again) how to publish a link or I would pass it on, as is I can post this and maybe someone will pick it up and clean up the link.

the cluster quakes here lasted for several months...the stores took all glass stuff off shelves and put them in crates on the floor. We took all glass
frames and stuff that could fall off shelves on the floor and most of the town slept outside. The military even evacuated the whole village at one
point...it was a pain but at the same time kinda exciting!
the seismologists told us it was positive that the pressure was being released little by little instead of one big kabang!

It was a few years ago...maybe 4? We were just building the beach house and had the front rock wall up and would go check it every day to see if it
was still standing! It was so intense...we had quakes of varying intensities every few minutes...pretty disorienting and disturbing. I couldnt get
anything done as I kept having to run outside! Then as quick as they started, they stopped and we have only had very few tremors over the last couple
years.

Thanks for the info Shari. We had another mild one last night, no flying cutting boards, although that one is no longer stored on the top shelf. I
keep looking at all the fragile's in my gallery, hummmmmm. Well, what is, just is. So far no paintings flying off the walls breaking clay sculptures.

eli....I would seriously consider moving the fragile stuff down or somewhere where they cant go flying off a shelf...problem with cluster quakes is
they lull you into thinking....OK...these are small...no sweat and then a big one comes!

Swarms
Thanks for the link to the Informador online (a handy bookmark to keep for news in other parts of Mexico) but today the focus is on the impact of
Hurricane Jova and I couldn't find any Baja earthquake info.
Here's a little blip from the Baja Pony Express newletter:
>>...The investigator Roberto Ortega Ruiz, of the Cicese, department of Sciences of the Earth of the Center of Scientific , informed formally
that the station of earthquakes, which Antonio locates in the region of San ......, to the south of the municipality, registered a whole of 15
earthquakes from 2 to 2.4 grades Richter; he confirmed also that foresees that the activity continues at least for one month.
The specialist detailed that an event as this one, seismic swarm, consists for many events of small magnitudes from what an epicentre is not
identified.
He mentioned that in the state it is not the first time that this type of phenomena happen and mentioned even, that in the same region, Los Barriles,
nine years ago a series of seismic events registered like in this occasion.<<
