Soy sauce for bug bites and burns

Tip of the Day! Read in the LA times that soy sauce takes the sting and itch out of bug bites. Tried it on some bites that were itching like crazy and presto! the redness and itching were gone. They recommend for burns that you first treat the wound with cold water or ice and then use the soy sauce.

We all want a peaceful world, filled with love and laughter, but we fill ourselves with anger and hate trying to fiqure out how to achive it.

If you use enough soy sauce on your skin, pretty soon you'll have to sit in the back of the bus. I mean....doesn't it stain heavily?

Wouldnt be surprised if it's the salt content doing it.

Try a strong salt solution and see if it works the same.

You're over-sensitive. Because of a civil rights movement, we don't have to refrain from talking about it as though it never happened.
I don't see anything in the Negro's dilemma today that requires hushed silence. It's all important, but none of it sacred. It's part of my life as well.

Dennis----------I agree with you 100%. Your comment was humorous, nothing more, as I saw it.

Race-relations is now an open book, and should be discussed openly IMO, and folks that are offended (or pretend to be) should get-over-it ASAP.

The cry of "racism" is so boring, and usually unfounded. If it happens, then prove it and prosecute, but stop all this "crying" and consternation.

Dennis,
Is Motoged overly sensitive or are you overly insensitive? Think about it. The flip comment you made refers to a very cruel state of affairs, an embarrassment for the country and a painful time to millions of black people and other people of color, a time where lives were lost in the effort/movement to abolish such treatment.

Motoged took note of your flip comment, there are many others who would be outright offended. BTW, your comment really doesn't constitute "...talking about it..."; it was a flip and slightly careless attempt at unsophisticated humor. That isn't a discussion; this is. big difference.

Barry, I think that your "sense of humor" needs some work and your implication that motoged's comment is a "cry of racism" is an over reaction in defense of an accusation that hasn't been made. Tells us something about your predisposition.

Besides that, what's wrong with the back of the bus?? I sit there all the time......

Are you getting the most out of life OR is life getting the most out of you ?? :?:

Twenty years from now you\'ll be more disappointed by the things you didn\'t do then the things you did.

OK...Why don't all you sensitive people get together and post a list of things we shouldn't be allowed to talk about...or say. Let us know what should only be whispered in secret.
While you're at it, tell me why a Black Man can say ****** and I'm not allowed to.
Then....tell me why you are a champion of the double standard.

PS....Can't squeeze this one by the morals-machine******, but you know what it means. Maybe I should have told the machine I'm Black.

If Bajanomad is your barometer for what's socially acceptable, you have far bigger issues than a touch of insensitivity.

And for the record, soy sauce is great for bites. Especially if you get attacked by one of those hamachi bugs that swarm Cortez in summer.

Mitch------My "sense of humor" is what it is, and nobody is going to "work on it", least of all me------frankly, I enjoy laughing, even at my own expense.

I don't deny that I have a "predisposition"---I don't know of anyone that doesn't.

----and motoged--------I guess you are going to have to clear up your reasoning behind your above comment-------just what DID you mean?? :?:

And for the record, I love soy-sauce, both in my mouth and on my skin-------and I have always wanted to be more "brown skinned"------I think "brown skinned" folks look so much better than lily-white (albino-like?) me!!! but then I grew up in a beach-town where EVERYBODY (but me) was beautifully "brown". It's all funny, tho.

Now I have another excuse to spread Soy-Sauce on my skin-------for bug bites!!! Life is so good.

Being one of the big crusaders in Off Topics....against racist junk being tossed around in there, by absolute idiots of the world.....I didn't take this remark ofb DENNIS as racist. Fact is...I dont think I ever seen a post by DENNIS that clawed away at non whites. Just my two cents worth.
