While traveling we carry handwipes to clean off anything we use but now that I think about it probably would not hurt to spray bubbling action into
toliet before using. I know sounds like a lot of work over nothing, as I have not had any problems in over 40 years traveling in Mexico but wouldn't
take that long to do. I also usually do not eat solids when traveling until I get to where I want to be. Found this type of traveling best for me
but again will start carrying the cleaning bubbles,LOL. Take Care & Travel Safe, "No Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777

I've watered and fertilized more cardons and cholas than I can remember!! The look on Dra. Bajabass's face as she exits keeps me out of Pemex
potties.

I travel with a cabover w/full facilities. At least when I sit down I know the microbes are mine.
I've been in several Baja rest rooms. They haven't made enough Lysol spray or
wipes to handle those places.

On a awesome October day in 2008, I was standing with friends neck deep in the water off camp Gecko sucking on Pacificos and BSing, life could not get
any better. Here we are having a good ol time when my son comes walking out towards us eating the most beautiful, ice chest cold half a cantaloupe
you’ve ever seen. He eats that half of cantaloupe and walks back out of the water to retrieve the other from the ice chest and back down into the
water to further torture me. After a couple rounds of this I ask if there was anymore and if so I would like a piece. There was and I did and it was
wonderful, standing in the Sea of Cortez with friends munching on a cold, juicy cantaloupe, truly, life cannot get any better than this, right? This
was a great finish to our last day in Gecko and we would head home to So Cal the next morning. We leave BOLA at first light and start the long haul
back home, first stop to be that ragged, out in the middle of nowhere, ranchero/restaurant place near Laguna Chapala. I had my huevos rancheros with a
Pacifico from the truck and was now content to kick back, listen to music and be the co-pilots eyes, probably wouldn’t have to stop until around
Ensenada. Thanks to my loving son’s gift of cantaloupe, we stopped at Catavina (nicest restrooms I’ve seen in Mexico), El Rosario (no toilet seat),
San Quintin (had to use the women’s), Colonet (men’s was flooded again used the womens), Santo Tomas (clean), and on and on. Even violated the side of
the road on hwy 94 back in California. Hands down the worst driving experience of my life, son and friend were sick of pulling into every Pemex as
well as hearing me talk about it. I will never leave on a trip without Imodium.

Yea! What we need is a guide for the best Banos in Baja. We'll plan our adventure around the Port-a-lets!

Jeez! The banos in Baja are a lot cleaner than many of the public restrooms north of the border.

Boy, you nomads sure like to talk a lot of S---! Forget Libya, benefits for vets, next election, instead it's two pages of restroom reports! What a
crack up...literally.

Clean banos? In Baja? I must be hanging out in the wrong part of town.

as my dad used to call them don't do the trick either. Pee on the seat will soak through them, they fall off just as you go to sit down, stick to your
hiney, just a plain pain.
What works for me is something simple that a fellow Nomad turned me on to...a Folgers Coffee canister with a vapor lock seal.
I call it my "Emergy-can".
http://www.folgers.com/products/classic-complements/index.as...
I keep it on the floor in the back seat of my truck. No one knows it's secret. (well, I guess now you do) Inside the canister I keep a packet of baby
wipes, t.p. and extra zip lock freezer size baggies. I wash it out with Fabulosa so it never offends the nose.
The wide mouth is just the right size, the lid snaps on tight after the fact, keeping your deposit securely inside until it can be properly disposed
of, ie buried, flushed. Easy grip handles keep it from slipping out of your grasp.
Just sayin', for what it's worth, this is what works for this Fisherwoman.

Humor detour...
Co-Pilots are very adaptable and always shun the Baja Road's public bathrooms. Like me, they would much rather go au naturale. Ah..there's
nothing like freedom of choice.

Who needs a..ugh..Pemex bathroom when there's a perfectly good Hobie at hand? Much like these sailors below who are 'christening' a friend's new
racing cat a few years ago on Posada Beach.
.....Si, como no?

And the word is out that Pemex is trying to save space and is about to launch a new prototype banos for it's many stations.

I'm taking the stairs, believe me!
I do what the voices in my tackle box tell me.

re the pee left on seat by previous inconsiderate nomads, wipe the seat first. if *ss gaskets are provided, a handfull of them can be used to wipe
seat... then you got dry seat for *ss gasket.
plop splash in sit-style toilets is solved by jamming toilet bowl full of deflecting material, eg paper products. directives to not put paper produts
down toilet are silly. why follow such a directive if owner won't even clean the bano?????????
the reason squat toilets are best design is there is no splash problem. germans have a nice shelf in their sit toilets that catches solids, avoiding
splash.
