Goofy Baja Great Dane

This endlessly amusing, endlessly endearing, mild temperament, deaf, with-only-one-blue-eye, white Great Dane still does things that open windows to his personality.

He eats apples, bananas, papaya (not the seeds) and today, I offered him some coconut meat.

He sniffed, dropped it to the floor and then, licked it all up.

Yes, Baja Blanca, He Was Adopted

Or, more accurately, he was rescued.

The breeder couldn't sell this puppy because he was disabled and so the breeder was going to put him to death with a hammer to the head.

We picked him up and nursed him through Parvo. He will be three-years-old next year.

He is the gift that keeps on giving.

Is the saddle for show or do you have a live-in midget?

Hey Dave

The red "saddle" is a Service Dog coat.

He is in training.

I'd recommend a series of slow 6 furlong works spaced 10 days apart. Then a 4 furlong blowout 4 days before the big race. Let me know when so I can get a bet down.

Racing dog?

How will your dog know when the race starts as they use some type to bell out of the gate? He will just be standing there because he won't hear a damn thing!

Simple, Maynard. Just hang a papaya in front of his face.

Attach it to the jockey's quirt.

Lucky to only be deaf and to have only one eye. This one that was rescued in the UK had both eyes surgically removed because of disease when he was a small puppy. Now he has his own seeing eye guide dog:
