I've been calling alfonsino's all day and line is busy. I need to have a reservation made for 2 people for November 15th. One night. Long time Nomad. Also member of Vagabundo del Mar Travel Club. U2U me if you can run over and take care of this for me. Thanks

Róman is Alfonsina's other son... and he gave me their contact numbers (it was a few years ago, however):

Fax: 011-52-664-626-2626
message: 011-52-664-648-1951

Reserving via phone is no guarantee that Antonio will get it or hold a room. Always come with emegency camping gear.

Yik!!!! This is somewhat different in relatiion to "making reservations' for a motel??????? Hopefully someone in Gonzaga Bay can handle this for me.
I still keep trying the l951 number.
Any suggestions how this is done from Arizona, I'm all ears. (so to speak)

Any other Nomads had this same problem in the past who has stayed at Alfonsino's before? Years ago, there was something abouit calling TJ to someone and they would make a "radio call' to G.B.?? But I'm presuming that the motel these days has a telephone there. Am I wrong????

There is no phone at Alfonsina's motel at Gonzaga Bay. And it would be nice if you figured out that the name of the place...after it's founder and a very nice lady...is Alfonsina's.....not "Alfonsino's"

You shouldn't have a problem getting a room in November.

Phil...
You posted a few hours ago. I am sure that you'll get someone within by the a.m. Many in GB could be out fishing or (?) during the day. Have fun down there...we always do!

SJ. That's good news. We have some friends from Riverside Ca (Jon & Carol P.)who are going to be in G.B. at that time. She's in email with us, and is going to see when they get there if they can get us a room???? Lot's of folks with great ideas. We'll be taking our airmattress & sleeping bag & sheets, just in case. Plus someone mentioned the motel Ranch something in the area. so hopefully it will work out for us.
Thanks to all.

bonanza bucko.
"Thanks for the correction. Being old & worn out (body-brains-teeth etc) leaves much to be desired in this old body. Ah to be young again. I don't know you, but I'd say your about 34 years young, and I can still remember some of those days, like Skeet still remember much of his 'youth!!!!
Alfonsina's. Hows that?
Hope someone in Gonzaga That likes to coffee at Alfonsina's will make a reservation for me that's reading this.

Geeze..Phil S... it's good to find another old fart who gets up early! I ain't anywhere near 35...more than twice that to be candid. I screw up the Spanish with regularity but I have an old burr under my old saddle about Alfy who was a friend of mine....we have lived on her beach for 35 years...since I was 38??!!...

Anyhow. I hope you get somebody to make your reservation. But I would just go...Antonio will get you in..there is usually plenty of room. Just don't go on a Mexican holiday or any day about four days either side of it. Worst case on going down there and not getting in would be a trip back to San Felipe which is now only two hours away....wish it was more like about 7 as in the good ole days.

BB:-)....probably should change my handle to "OldFart"

Phil, when i dropped in sans ressies 2003 when the 1000 DID roar thru the "town" i got a room no problem. they had several.
i found most of the pit support there preferred camping.

i would not sweat it if there is no holiday going on or good WX which is not nov typ.

The furthest south it gets is Arroyo Matomi, 40 miles south of San Felipe/ 55 miles north of Gonzaga. It is a loop race this year, starting and finishing in Ensenada.

I believe the capitan means "without reservations". Kind of like sans panties only not as compelling. ;D

actually "sans" is French for "without"...abbreviated in medical narratives as simply "s" with a "line" on top
