Import payment at East Gate Mexicali
We have to import a new fridge next week through Mexicali to San Felipe. The construction in downtown Mexicali is supposed to be a problem. So we
are thinking about going through the east...Oriental...gate.
Can you tell me where the bank is there...or anything about where and how you pay an import fee? Is it a hassle?..should I go through the downtown
gate anyhow...etc.
Thanks a whole bunch.

I think it's easier at the east gate than downtown - bank right there - no problems.

And in the San Felipe area - check out Valle Chico area

We took ours through the East Gate. Easy. We just declared it and payed. Easy. We took all our appliences through the East gate. Not hard at
all. Just go to the right and declare it. Have receipts. Actually when we took ours through we went in to pay and the girl told us how much and we
were prepared to pay and she asked us if we wanted a receipt and we told her yes....her reply was " no receipt half price" and that is the way it
worked that time. Everytime we have taken things in it has been different. We have always been prepared to pay and have always payed something. I
have heard that it is different now but I still talk to people who had an experience (something like ours) of some sort. Go for the East Gate on a
Sunday morning early. Let us know. Anyway, that was our experience. Nancy
