WANTED: 7000s Hughes Modem .GOT IT!

I am re-posting this from another internet thread...just to cover all the bases. I am desperate!

---Well, I made it back to Coyote. And had contacted a computer/internet tech, Mario Alonso, via email to tell him I would arrive Nov 8th. He mailed back that he would ready for the Hughes re-connect for the season...with my new upgraded 7000s modem from Hughes Co. (I usually put my account on hold for 6 months a year to save a few hundred bucks while I am not using it.)

I was a little late driving into Mulege on the 8th, but there was Mario in his old, grey Suburban..waiting on the highway next to the higway Pemex just south of Mulege.

He followed me to the casa in the Bay and we immediately got down to brass tacks...and then...Carumba!

We could not find my new 7000s modem...dang it.

We tore the motorhome AND boat apart..nada.

Mario made two separate trips to mi casa on the 8th and 9th to try various modems that he had...no luck there, either.

Second visit with novia.

Very weird event...maybe Murphy's Law? I somehow have misplaced my new Hughes 7000s modem that the company sent to my address Up North.

Can't quite figure out what happened to it, though? I packed it into one of the motorhome's basement compartments when Up North..and saw it was still there upon my arrival in San Diego.

While at the RV resort I stayed at in San Diego, those compartments were unlocked, but I highly doubt anybody would heist it...as it would not be any good to anybody but myself, being programmed to my account, codes, etc. At least that is MY understanding?

Besides, there were far more expensive items in those compartments that would catch a thief's eye before a cardboard box from Hughes.

A full set of Big Bertha & Callaway golf clubs for example...which I now would gladly make a partial trade for a 7000s modem! (Modem = about $150, golf set = about $1500. Addictions are expensive!)

Whatever the case, stolen or just lost, the fact remains that I am missing the 7000s modem and the house is without internet service at the moment.

WANTED: I am looking for a usable, working, 7000s modem if anyone has one...loaner, for sale, for trade, whatever?

I sent an email to BCSTech in the hopes they can provide me with one..and install. It's a real pain to make a 30-mile round trip to get online.

And that's my tale of woe for today.

What a thrill seeing your "office" where your writings take place. This would be the same feeling as if I saw where "Papa" Hemmingway wrote his works.

I have a DW 7000 IPS that you can have. It was working when I replaced it with an HN 7000S. Just need someone to transport it from San Felipe to Coyote. Buena Suerte

Thanks anyway, BajaRob, but I'm pretty sure I need the one pictured..a HN 7000s modem...not a DW7000 IPS. I don't know if that DW model with no 's' will work here or not? ..but I sent a question email to Mario just in case.

If so..then we have a deal and thanks...just need to get it closer to Mulege. Only have the motorhome to run around in at the moment.

i]Got a modem on the way.

The chances of finding a usable HN7000s are slim to none...so I called Hughes and ordered a new upgrade to pick up in San Diego. 2nd one sent in the last 2 months. They must think I'm mighty careless.

Thanks to all for the suggestions, offers, and emails. I'm good to go for now.....unless 'somebody' misplaces this one.
