Doug:
When it comes right down to it, I think that the Northern Location and people are so much different than the Baja Sur Adventuers and Lovers that the two have trouble with "Their Baja"

It is so much different and the people living in TJ and that area seem not to have any idea of the Wide open Spaces of Baja Sur.

My take on this is that first and foremost, Jesse is a businessman. I have to believe that being a presence on the Nomad forum has brought him considerable business over the years.

So, it makes little sense that he would quit forever.

I noted someone's post that said Jesse had been making anti-American comments lately. If memory serves me, Jesse told me years ago that he grew up in Canada. Don't know if he has Canadian citizenship, but I would not be surprised.

As I said, if makes little sense for a business person to abandon a forum such as this given the low cost advertising involved.

Unless someone actually knows me personally I consider any "personal attack" on a 'mostly' anonymous discussion board more of an opinion, and we all know that opinions are like buttcracks, everyone is one, right? Oh and if they do know me and make a personal attack then I just let the air out of their tires next time I see them in THE BAJA. :dudette:

Jesse, don't sweat the small stuff. See you in La Paz someday soon.

Seems strange to me.
Just do it. :light:

This appears to be the part in Iflyfish's psychological analysis from Dr. Berne's book where the victim says something to get attention.

I was thinking of that same post by IFlyFish from yesterday. A "kick me" thing by a victim to gain sympathy. You don't have to announce you are leaving if you really want to leave- you just do it. He needs to reinvent himself a third time anyway- just like Baja has.

A "Kick Me" participant never wants to end the game. Here there is an announcement that the game is over. This is very different.

Sometimes it's for real. Remember when Stephanie Jackter swore she'd never be back at this site?

yes, there are many buttcracks on here, but if you point them out, you will be censored.

Goog luck, and keep your eye's open a better forum is just around the bend.

some of the sagest advice came from lemcho a while back in the thread, IMO:

1) Discuss the content, not the messenger.

sometimes the messenger is attacked where really, ONLY the information is what should be discussed.

and someone else mentioned that those who are banned can return under another alias ... this is something that should most certainly be addressed.

I certainly hope that Jesse does return - it is important to have another side mentioned and he has always been ready to give "the other side" of the story. This would be a big loss to our community.

I'll miss you Jessie, I still use your yellowfin tuna recipe, allthough, some steps are clearly missing, it's like a suicide person, if they announce it, they want help, if they off themselfs, they are for real. I think you can look at the join date and # of posts and get a feeling for the problem people.

This is not the first nor the last BN that will post this type of notice. I think it's only a cry for attention. To see just how many BN will respond and try to convince them in not going. Sorry, I've seen this before. If they really want out, all they have to do is hit delete. Not respond to any treads or just as many say here, troll in the back ground. Jesse has been around a long time and BN is like a drug, you can stop for awhile but you will never kick the habit or never leave welcome to the hotel California BAJA :o
