Is it the real deal or an american version? The Pacifico's or Tecate's never taste the same NOB but maybe that is just because I am not SOB.

Currently the same beer. Although there's talk about Modelo opening breweries in the U.S. and overseas. If that happens I'd expect Tecate's parent
company to do likewise.

Tecate sold here in USA comes from their mainland brewery, (not the original Baja plant in Tecate)... it is different and yucky. Pacifico here tastes
the same to me, however.

If you look at the lable on a Tecate sold in Calif., it comes from back east somewhere, and when I checked further I learned that the beer is from the
Monterrey brewery, not the Tectae brewery...
I hope you are right... I would like my Tecate to taste the same on both sides of the border!
From Wikipedia:
Tecate beer
Tecate and Tecate Light are popular pale lagers named after the city of Tecate, Baja California, where they were first produced.
Originally brewed by a local company, Tecate was acquired by Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma in 1955.
Tecate is sold in both distinctive red aluminium cans and in twist-top bottles. Tecate Light was launched in 1992 by Hector Emilio Ayala, who was the
project manager.

A BIG difference
In the taste of Pacifico from south of the border to what is sold NOB. Do a blind taste test with a friend......you can really tell.
Same with XX and XX Amber.

Seems to me the tequila doesn't taste as good either, they must bottle the bottom of the barrel and send it NOB.

US requires pasteurization. Mexican beer ALWAYS tastes better in Mexico! Must be the sand and salt water that gets in it... H.
