offroad light question

so one of my lights is deteriorating around the bulb. there is rust and the reflective coating is changing color. i got them from a friend and they look like KC's. the glass says TLC 4213. there is TLC in a circle on top of the chrome housing.

a search for TLC 4213 on google turns up a KC reference on amazon. is this a KC product? why doesn't it say KC anywhere?

my BAJA trip in january will be better if i get this solved soon.

My advice is to toss out the old light and to buy a new one. New KC lights cost roughly $100/pair. Why not replace/upgrade before your big trip?

This warranty is limited to the original purchaser and a sales receipt may be required.

The NAPA brand Halogens are really bright good quality, for the price. I think they are like $20 or $30 each. If you want to go real bright, get the Kragen HID's. They are $135 each though but very bright. KC's are decent enough.

yeah, all good suggestions, but FREE is good, too! and why should the warranty only apply to the original owner?

All waranties that I have seen are only for the original owner... seems to be industry standard ... and yes, many of these things seem wrong ... however they are all in the favor of the manufacturer.

i guess i need to call them. i don't want to send the light in and it's a knock off.

as for the warranty. if i receive something as a gift for my birthday (what i told the guy via email and that i had no receipt) why should the warranty be void? total BS! the guy agreed and gave me a RMA = Return Merchandise Authorization number....

thanks for the replies.

Have heard some stories from folks who have driven in various "countries" where using your night driving lights to "blind" the other driver .. Is part of driving at night .... And is thought of a great sport ... as long as YOU win...:lol::lol:

Please tell us what the manufacturer says?? I run KC 150w Daylighters atop my 'Baja Buck-stopper' and they really lit up Hwy 3 between Valle de la Trinidad and Ojos Negros a few weeks ago. Of course, I turned off the lights for on-coming Hwy traffic.

Really? That surprises me, it isn't a very big town. Stayed there on our way to the Grand Canyon last summer.

There most certainly is but one side to every story: the TRUTH. Variations of it are nothing but lies.

Yah they moved there from California a few years ago.. like so many other businesses did after what the damn ... (oh, never mind)...

We stayed at the Grand Canyon Railroad Hotel and took the train ride to the canyon... What a great time, and the cost was very reasonable... We would love to go back and spend more time at the canyon... Baja Angel wants to do the mule ride to the bottom... Then maybe we will be ready for the ride into San Pablo Canyon from San Francisco de la Sierra!

Train Robbery was included in the deal!

turns out TLC is an "older" KC product. i think i'm gonna just buy a new reflector and bulb and install them into the housing. i'd like to keep my old school TLC's running strong for years to come.
