In case you have Mexican friends...

If you run into Mexican friends during the Holiday Season, it might be handy to know that...

in the southern peninsula, at this time of year it is customary to wish a Feliz Navidad and Prospero Aņo Nuevo WHILE you give the person a normal hand shake, then a hug, and then another hand shake after the hug. I haven't noticed any of slap-fist-bump type of hand shakes, but then maybe it's because I don't frequent with a lot of young people.

In a room full of strangers, you may have to do this with everyone in some social situations.

But if your Mexican friends are from some other part of Mexico, they may not have adopted this custom yet.

There most certainly is but one side to every story: the TRUTH. Variations of it are nothing but lies.

thank you for reminding folks of this....its very important to understand protocal type things, particularly at important events and holidays...and the hand shake hug hand shake is one of them...but people you dont really know, you kind of do the ole fake hug...or air hug with maybe a slight pat on the back...
