I thought I posted this earlier. Am I losing my mind? I think I'm losing my mind.

Chicken Soup Won't Cut It
Having recently spent 30 days in the hospital dealing with what I initially thought was a bad cough, I can't emphasize enough how important it will be
for you to avail yourself of the best medical care you can. At our age, Bernie, pneumonia is a killer.
And when you fully recover from this, get the vaccination! In the meantime, I hope your recovery is speedy and complete.

I got a pneumonia vaccination years ago in Alaska and have not had pneumonia since. . . .
Used to get it about every other year.
Haven't heard about the vaccinations for years though.

I just read an article in Consumer Reports On Health and they recommend the pneumonia and flu shots on the list of 10 things to do for your health in
2011.

Pneumonia shot (pneumococcal vaccine)
What is the pneumococcal vaccine?
Pneumonia — a bacterial infection in the lungs — is a common complication from the flu. In addition to a flu shot every fall, it's a good idea to get
a once-in-a-lifetime pneumococcal vaccine.
Why get the pneumococcal vaccine?
The shot protects against almost all of the bacteria that cause pneumonia.
It's safe.
It's covered by Medicare.
Most people only need one shot to protect them for the rest of their lives.
Who should get the pneumococcal vaccine?
People age 65 or older;
People with a chronic illness such as advanced breast cancer, heart or lung disease, or diabetes;
People with a weak immune system due to illness and/or the effects of chemotherapy;
Residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities; and
Alaskan Natives and certain American Indian populations.

Hey...Hey
Thanks Lori and the rest of you for your thoughts...I'm doing good...pneumonia is much better that thinking you are getting old.....er. I am told
that I am a bit bullheared, not true, but I did wander around with only enough air to walk 50 feet without stopping to gulp in as much air as I could
get.
This thing hit between our trip throught central Baja and the last one to Cabo...My the time we got off the plane in Baja I knew what was going on and
it sorta messed our week at the Tip.
I have had this Achiles heel for years until I got the shot to prevent it three years ago...Guess mine didn't last as long as it was supposed to OR I
outlived it...
Anyway, It did not stop us from finally hooking up with Lori and Tommy on our last, and most fun morning in Cabo.
I first met Lori on the old Amigo board and have been trying for with her for over a decade, don't that sound so much longer than 10 years.
What a fantastic couple! About half way through brerakfast Lori, with eyes sparkling and flashing with fire stopped all conversation with
this..."Bernie, I know you are going to write something about Cabo...so please be fair. Sure, Cabo is different but look at what it has done for the
standard of living for its people."
So here it is...Cabo is a nice place to visit but with time shares, in Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach going for $11,000 a week it has got just a bit to
expensive for me...I did talk to some of my Mexican friends and they are very happy with its positive impact on their lives.
I remember when Cabo was just a puff of dust and the most exciting time was when the Ferry pulled into the dock...no real port at that time...Now I
see it as moving at the speed of the Hurricanes that visit every so often.
I did tell Lori that I had just told Jaime that morning that we would NOT be returning to Cabo...between us we have been there about 40 times...Then
I told her, and meant it, that after sharing some time with her and Tommy that we would 'definitely' be back to visit with them...
So! Okay! Under doctors care, Jaime was scared my pacemaker was going sideways, and improving rapidly.
Hopefully, after the first of the year, we can come down and visit the new friends we met at Shari & Juans.
Again, Thanks for the soup!

Bernie, take care of that nasty monster... Yes you can get a pneumonia inoculation. In fact if you're a Vet you can get it at the V.A. FREE.
Just got mine last month along with a shingles inoculation. Take care and get well quick.
Don\'t mess with the old dog...... Age and skill will always overcome youth and treachery! Brilliance only comes with age and
experience..... .... ....
Are you getting the most out of life OR is life getting the most out of you ??
Twenty years from now you\'ll be more disappointed by the things you didn\'t do then the things you did.
