U-haul trailer rental

I know this isn't a Baja topic, but I want good info, and all of you have a wide variety of experience, so I want to tap into that.

I'm going to rent a U-haul trailer (5x10 enclosed) to move my daughter, from one state to another. Distance is about 300 miles one way, but I can return the trailer to the take out point, and this seems to be far cheaper (by $250+/-?) than absorbing the one way charge.

Does U-haul have any way of knowing where the trailer goes or for what amount of mileage?

Recommendations?

Thanks, Steve

I don't believe they do. It is the time-line they are concerned about--------you pay by the day with unlimited mileage, the way I understand it.

There are some rental places that make arraingements for you to take it into Mexico...insurance, etc. Not sure U-Haul does that.
Anyway......be aware for insurance purposes, that a trailer on the road in Mexico has to be treated as a seperate vehicle and not an extension of the towing vehicle as is done in the states.

There are many U-Haul vehicles that come south, never to return to the states for various reasons and U-Haul is well insured for their losses....not that it means anything.
Ask U-Haul what their policy is and if they say no, ask their competitor.

Thus, irrelevant to this forum, with the exception of Off topic.
