Best New Year's Eve party in BC

OK I've been checking around for the best New Year's Eve party locally, and from what I am reading...The Cove Marina is offering the best deal on the spit in Punta Banda...if someone can convince me there is a better celebration somewhere else, I might just do a little traveling...to be honest, Ensenada has been mighty nippy during the madrugada...and the rest of you...where's YOUR best NYE bet?? Let us know...

N.Y.E. fiestas usually over-promise and under-deliver for me. Smaller home events have been my preference.

I'm threatening downtown Ensenada with an appearance to search the smaller venues Saturday night.

My couch, music and fireplace are also strong contenders.

Smaller venues..

I was thinking about going to San Diego, but I need to work at the clinic in Maneadero Sunday night, so I didn't feel like traveling to the US...what smaller venues were you talking about?? I know that huge place La Marina/Cove is going to be freezing cold, so I wasn't so thrilled with the idea...

Looks like the couch wins. They are going to ruin all of the fun and mayhem.

This morning's article translated from El Vigia...

Ensenada, B. C. - Without specifying the amount of fixed and mobile filters are installed on the night of December 31, authorities of the Municipal Transit Authority announced that they will be more than on Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve were implemented 14 checkpoints, fixed eight busiest streets with vehicular, mobile and six colonies of greater incidence of crime.

Jose Luis Gutierrez Bojorquez, commander of Transit, did not disclose the amount of security filters police strategy, but said he will be more.

"The filters will be on the main roads of the city, this time there will be inspectors breathalyzers used in the various checkpoints, to test drivers with alcohol on his breath," he said.

Locations

Some of the checkpoints will be fixed at Reforma Avenue South, while in the north will be in Clark Flores Avenue, west on Boulevard Costero, and in the east will be located in the bypass Esmeralda.

The commander added that there will be mobile filters in streets of different neighborhoods of the city, set in a random and unexpected.

Checkpoints in semi-permanent technical staff will operate the meters, and will move to the filters that request their presence.

In the center, detailed, municipal officials recommend people leaving bars and nightclubs to take a taxi, in order to avoid accidents.

The controller explained that the increase of filters, as well as police in the operatic, is that many people come to celebrate the end of the year outside the home, contrary to the celebration of Christmas, that most individuals remain in their homes.

Finally, he warned that drivers who are detected under the influence of alcohol, will be arrested and consigned to the prosecutor, and the vehicle will be towed to the Municipal Corralón.
