tamales

I would like to report that she is still there selling her tamales and burritos. No longer under the tree since it was cut down a few years ago but on the south side of the new pemex and still in her green van. I stoped in last tuesday and had lunch there. fishin rich

A guy was selling Carmelita's tamales out of a blue van last week. He had hot coffee as well. There is also another yellow van there selling tortas and other things. They had a couple tables set up too!! I recommend Carmelita's beef tamales!

tamales

The last time I stopped at the tamale lady(guy) I was with my wife she had not had one so we stopped I ordered 1 apiece because we were going to eat later, so down the road we have our tamale, then my wife says to me don't you EVER order just one.

Carmelita's son "Mr. Joe" was working the van when I stopped on the 11th.

I'm sorry to report than her daughter Ramona lost her battle with substance abuse a few months ago. She was the second child of Carmelita's to precede her to the great beyond. We liked Ramona, and when we last talked, she seemed to be doing better. She was "washing" customer's cars for tips. Alcohol is a drug, and it does kill. Too bad. No olives in my last four tamales though, I was disappointed.

inside joke

Bob--It's kind of an inside joke between dave and I. There is someone out there who removes the viva baja stickers when ever they encounter them. The tamale wagon being the #1 spot hit. I am always putting new stickers on it and by now it's turning into a joke. fishin rich
