You mean you ate the can of chili in the car on the way home? hmmm.
I think the Dr and Dennis have a thing going on. Sadly, it seems to be only food based for now: bisquick, pre-dawn pancakes, and chili dogs.

Necktie???
Dennis doesn't own a necktie, he told me he hasn't worn one since Vietnam!! Now Kashey Dog, from his picture I gather, doesn't have a problem going
out to a really nice place and dress up for it....rumor has it that he knows the best places in town!!! Quote: | Originally posted by Woooosh

Hi Doc and Nomads...
I LOVE Chili Dogs too! ...And Hormel (w/o beans) is pretty good on them. When I open a can of Hormel, I always like to eat a couple spoonfuls cold.
Not sure why, but I like it cold too.
When I camp in Baja, Chili Dogs are always one of my go to easy to fix meals that's cheap and very filling!
I like to use Polish dogs with all the fixings....toasted buns, mustard, Nacho Cheese (from the squeeze bottle), Nacho Jalapeno slices, and lots of
fine chopped onion. After cooking the dogs and pre-warming the Chili, I assemble the Chili Dog open face and heat it in the microwave (at home).
Onions and Jalapenos go on after microwaving. If you want a little more kick, add some Tabasco or Chipotle Sauce.
Another GOOD Chili type topping is 'Great Value' - 'Hot Dog Chili Sauce' which is available at Walmart (their own brand).
It's more like the Chili that you get on a dog at fast food restaurants. Very tasty and only about .75 cents a can.
For a really TASTY appetizer, try heating some Hormel (NO beans) in a pan with grated Mexican blend cheese or Velveeta and some Rotel or Salsa. If you
want a bit more kick, add a couple of spoonfuls of chopped Jalapenos (in the little can). Delicious for dippping Tortilla Chips or on Nachos!!

Oh, come on. NOTHING that Hormel makes is the best example of that particular food.
Roberto, I think the use of the word chili is a term of conventional useage to differentiate it from the word chile so that you know whether someone
is talking about the prepared food or the actual pepper, itself. JMG.
Costco in Mexico has a partcularly good hot dog called Salchichas de Res. Kirkland brand. Basically, all beef hotdogs.

For an easy party dip, take a can of Hormel hot chilli no beans and a block or two of Philly cream cheese, put the two in a bowl, microwave 'till
cheese is melted, stir and serve with tortilla chips. Use your imagination for optional ingredients.

What? You heated the CAN of chili in the microwave? Even DENNIS knows that you're supposed to take the contents out of the can first.

Didn't say it was the best example...only pretty good! There are definitely better products out there. The problem sometimes is finding them.
Supermarkets usually just carry the well known brand names who often pay for shelf space and give incentives to them to buy and sell.

I liken Hormel Chili to the pastey meat in a Jack In The Box taco. If anybody can identify either one by their ingredients, they get a big, fat
prize.

Funny stuff as usual. Let this thread go by until I realized its potential? I
do like chili dogs but for me Staggs Chili with Beans is the best! Like many I can't resist a spoonful cold before I heat it up. Nobody carries
any US brand chili or Chili with Beans in Baja Sur. Sooo, I bring it down with me after a visit to the states On a cold day it starts talking to me from the cupboards. MMmmmm. Tio ps thanks for the post Dr.
