So, where are those leaders who will make this a "definite" and set the dates?

After the SF250 race this weekend we can start working out he details. The NORRA race starts Sunday April 29th and I was planning on watching the first stage of racing, maybe more but break away when it got to loreto on Monday April 30th. Maybe in Agua Verde the night of the 30th. I'm open to adjustments.

There's a LOT of Baja Sur to see in the back-country there! I only wish it was closer/ or I had more time & money to explore it! Looking forward to our summer vacation to Baja Sur again, this July!

We did it before... and while Playa Frambes and Coco Cabaņas had AC in our room, we did camp at Playa la Perla in the humid-heat!

We always go to Baja Sur in July... the water is warm then!

Maybe, as a "warm-up".......could meet some of the group in Mulege already and take this road as a detour to Loreto/Aqua Verde.

Anybody?

On your bike?
Having just done this route as a down-grade from the Purisima side in 4wd pickup,
I'd bet the South Switchback is a toughie taken as an up-grade from the Mulege side.
Might be easier on a bike, however.

No, sorry I do not do bikes anymore......

my Adventure Wagen is a capable 4x4. Do you think it is passable climbing up from Mulege?

Thanks for you info.

Can't tell ya' yea or nea, Karl.
Having driven down it using our granny gear, I'll just say that we felt our Chevy s10 not up to the ascent, and its a looong way to backtrack.
Why not do the route south from La Purisima north to Mulege after Agua Verde? Mulege's a great place to celebrate the end of a grand adventure.

Thanks for the tip Mulagena,

but my final destination is El Centenario/La Paz - my future playground.....

I do know looong backtracks, and I sincerely hate them:yes:

Maybe I'll pre-run this ascent on Sunday, if I can get away from some ranch laboring. I will be just a couple hrs away from your town.

I'm up to whatever route we take. I think I'll put a tranny cooler on before the trip. I had an AT over temp light come on doing some Death Valley canyons crawling along in 4x4 low.

I'll be driving my FJ Cruiser instead of riding the bike, whatever route is fine with me, looking forward to it.......dt

Remember, if you have A-TRAC, to push the button after you go into low range (if it is off)! Wish I could go... take photos!

Where are the pictures?

I didn't make it to Mulege this time. Too much work at my friend's rancho and not enough time.

My truck did just fine, a quick 1.6K mile trip on a short week of travel down to San Ignacio.
Now I can ready and clean it for the next adventure at the end of April.

I'm planning of leaving SoCal on April 25th and looking for the 30th at the beach in AV.
TW had posted the following: Maybe in Agua Verde the night of the 30th. I'm open to adjustments.

Yes it would be great to hook up, I then could be there already April 29th or so.

So far I'm planning on Agua Verde on April 30th. It will be a busy 6 weeks for me. I'm doing a Death Valley trip the end of March, a Colorado trip the middle of April and AV the end of April. Our granddaughter graduates from high school in May but I don't have a date yet.
