OK It's Time I Learn How To Import An Image To The Forum

I am a cyber dummy.

I do not know or understand lingo, jargon, or cyber buzzwords

I need to be taught the process like one would teach a 5-year old.

Could someone construct an Idiot's Guide To Importing An Image" and U2U it to me? It will have to include darn near every needed keystroke.

I've got some good and some entertaining stuff to share at times.

Thank you.

David

Hey David,

The image is not actually imported to the forum, it has to be hosted on another website. As an example of how it works, let's use the Baja Nomad logo at the top of the page as a sample image. Right click on the logo and select "copy image location". When you paste it, you will see the link to the image location:

http://forums.bajanomad.com/images/xmbforum/bnxmb.gif

Then all you have to do is paste that link in between image tags:

[img]the image location link goes here[/img]

When you paste the link in, it will then show the image like this:

I think where you screwed up was "taught as if you were a 5 year old. 5 year olds figured this out long ago. we need to be taught as 60 year olds!

David - I think it took me 2 years to finally get it down hahaha

and what I found out eventually, was that my very own darling computer was interfering.

I think I need to digest all of this a nibble at a time...

I believe I will take advantage of mcfez's kind offer and send him an email to confirm it.

For multiple images I use text edit on my Mac (Word on PC). Just type in as much text as you want with the copied image codes assigned to it on Photobucket in between the text or one after another. Be sure to size your images 800 X 600.
When you are done just copy and paste here.

DavidE - a lot of confusion lies with the fact that there are so many ways you can choose to do it, and variations with types of computers. There are many photo uploading sites, but Photobucket is easy. So open an account there - you'll have a name and password, and later you'll login. Once you get that squared away, you have to have the photos on your computer to select and upload to Photobucket. As you may know, you can put your photos on your own computer direct from your camera, or transfer from a CD or external drive device (one of those $6.00 jobbies) that perhaps you used to save some scanned photos (see what I mean?) Anyway, once you get those two "tools" ready, what I do, is open a Word document and copy and paste the photo or photos there, so you can add captions and more then one photo. Then Cntrl/A the whole thing, and open BN, and Cntrl/V it to your BN post. Suffer through the learning curve and take notes for yourself to refer to at a later date. I re-write my notes into steps to follow, and eventually I can do it without the instructions.
