So does mean one would go to The Mexico
I think someone might have been trying to save pennies when having a shirt printed...instead of The Baja Pennisula they coined The Baja

It was a High Karate Aftershave commercial... showing an Eskimo in winter fur, running down the Baja 1000 road to illustrate how New 'Iced High
Karate' could keep him cool... and it was THE aftershave... THAT BEAT THE BAJA!
Now, here is Dave Deal's cartoon (in Jimmy Smith's book) on the subject:

Jalapeno, Jalapeno, Jalapeno, Jalapeno!
I've discovered a wonderful new philosphy that has raised my consciousness as well as my cholesterol.
It's called Mexistentialism.
It all started with the philosopher Juan-Paul Salsa, who wrote, "to Bean, or Nacho to Bean, that is the Queso."
He was followed by his great disciple, Descarta Blanca, who said, "I Pinto, therefore, Cayenne."
Some trace it to ancient Grease, where the great thinker Aristortilla wrote the book Plata's RePulpo.
Meanwhile, over in ancient India, they believed in Chili con Karma - that what Casa around, Carne's around.
And back in the Holy Land, The prophet Masa brought The Ten Comidas:
"Thou salt no tequila"
"Honor thy tamale and thy Papaya"
"Blessed are the Migas, for they shall Ranchero the Burps"
"Give a man an Enchilada, he'll Taco Mole"
"Arroz is Arroz by Flameada name"
"In the Picante, Guisada Cerveza'd the Hongas and the Verde. And he saw that it was Food"
I'd like to close by reciting The Lard's Prayer:
"Our Fajita, who are in Huevos, Pollo'd be Muy Bueno.
Thy Corona come, thy Chili be Con, on Cuervo it is El Jefe.
Forgive us our Tres Amigos, as we forgive those who Seis Salsas against us.
Lettuce not into Tomatillo, but Nuevo us from Fritos.
For thine is the Gringo, the Agua and the Chorizo.
In the name of the Flauta, and of the Flan, and of the Frijole ghost.
A-Menudo"

Etymology In early historic mission documents — primarily baptism, marriage, and death records — there are mentions of the city with the names: La Tía
Juana
Even J Serra spelled it incorrect, DK I have to say
you are consistant, this place wouldn't be the

Nice, Vergel, and point well made (at least, in my mind).
There most certainly is but one side to every story: the TRUTH. Variations of it are nothing but lies.

I, for one, found it halarious.

You ever been in Rocky Mountains? They're just west of Great Plains, a fair bit east of Pacific Ocean, and north of Mexican Border.
|

Maybe this will put it in perspective. From my collection of the maps.

So many a newcomer might be very confused and wonder what we are all talking about ---- Baja or The Baja. |
I'm told that Miguel Leon Portilla (Mexico's foremost anthropologist and historian) goes into a little tissy when he hears the peninsula referred to
as The Baja.

but "BAJA" is certainly a state of mind.... |
Now, can you explain that state of mind. Is there only ONE correct state of mind, or are there several possibilities. Does this state of mind
involve particular places and if so, please provide the GPS information. In the interest of being educated, we need to know.

My 'scary persona' is
1) I love Baja and have since I was 8.
2) I love to share what I have discovered with others so they too might enjoy it.
3) I like to help others... be it to find a fun place to camp, find a mission site, spell a place correctly (for reasons that should be obvious), and
whatever else I can do to help (irrigation, four wheeling, etc) ...
4) Have fun and have fun with others... camping, off roading, whatever...
and for the political twist you all have been waiting for:
5) To encourage everyone to believe in themselves and their ability to become great at what ever they do, without some big government agency dictating
what they can do with their own money... to keep America free and as far from socialism (a proven failure everywhere it was tried) as possible.
Oh, and this is a discussion... opinions belong to ourselves and because I express some, does NOT mean I expect you to or even want you to... It is
JUST discussion.
Have a NICE day!

Wouldn't that be a state of The mind I thought you were only supposed to
capitalize the first letter of a state?
