Alphonso Cuesta update

Alphonso and his wife Teche were in a head on auto crash about noon today. They were taken to the hospital in Santa Rosilia, which can not provide the services Alphonso needs. The family is looking to rent a private plane asap to take Alphonso to La Paz. Sanda his daughter is in La Paz with her daughter, who is having a baby. She can co ordinate the ambulance in La Paz. Alphonso is in critical condition and his wife is in stable condition. Call me or post here if you can help or know of someone who can. This needs to happen NOW. Thanks

on edit
edited as it is no longer an emergency.....
As of a few minutes ago, they stabilized him for ground transport for an MRI in La Paz, it is no longer a life or death situation and is now in an ambulance. He suffers head injuries, spinal injuries as well as broken legs and ribs etc. He is 84 or 85.

Most (to see the latest posts on ALL Baja Nomad Baja forums) use Today's Posts (link at top of page)... which actually is about 4 days of posts... So any reply (even to say BUMP) puts (bumps) it at the top of the forum it's in and at the top of Today's Posts.

On his way to the hospital in a ground ambulance..

Just spoke to Willy and he told me Alphonso could now be transferred to La Paz via ground ambulance for a CAT scan...so he is on his way via ground ambulance.

Thanks everyone!! Nomads are terrific. Special thanks to EnsenadaDr for calling. I went to the SERINIDAD right after my first post and talked to several pivots who offered to help, but their planes were small and he would not have been able to lie flat and the Doctor required him to stay on a stretcher. Thanks Dennis for the pledge, lets see how it goes, they do have insurance.
He was driving and suffered a stroke or heart attack and drove straight into the oncoming vehicle, oblivious to everything, while his wife was screaming. A nightmare for sure.

This on top of Pepe's heart attach and his daughter ready to have her baby any second. Pepe is doing well and taking it slow.

Glad to hear things sound semi-stabilized. Hope he gets great medical attention in La Paz.

Teche will be released from the SR hospital tomorrow. Alphonso is in La Paz. The Cuesta family has requested that no further updates be made for a few days.

Send good karma.
